Chapter 13: The old Ruin

As we opened the door we came into a little door it was entirely wet and cold. We came near a rusty door that was overgrown with moss. It had a kind of wheel on the front. Thalia went forward and positioned herself so she could open the submarine-like door.

Behind it, we found something unthinkable. It was trees. But not the trees we had seen before but trees out of a rainforest. As we stepped through the door we found ourselves in an entirely different world.

In an Instant the door behind us closed. We turned around but it was already too late.

We took a closer look at our surroundings. It looked like a Rainforest even though one moment ago they were in a regular forest.

Thalia asked: „Is this some kind of ported or Test what are we supposed to do here? I didn't have an idea either.

There was a wall of rainforest before us as well as a single path that went directly into the rainforest. I looked at Thalia while she said. Let's try not to die.

We went into the jungle and stayed on the path that was before us. It was wet here so Thalia got rid of the fur around her neck and placed it around her waist.

As we moved forward we encountered our first enemy in this magical ruin. It looked like a human made out of stone with no face. It had a two-handed axe at his back. The moment he noticed us, six torches lit up around us while he reached for the axe on his back and slowly walked towards us.

We still only had our goblin spears, Thalia had 3 of them to be exact, which wouldn't help against a monster fully made out of stone. We still tried to inflict damage but nothing worked. I even tried slithering around his upper body and crushing him to death. Which seemed to work a little bit but the stone statue smashed him into the ground after a few seconds.

I concluded that we needed to find his weak point. I know I am smart thank me later. The idea I had was to try picking up some moss and make it touch the body of the stone knight.

I quickly got some of it and placed it into my mouth. After I had acquired what I needed I went over to the stone knight who was distracted by Thalia who was with a little struggle able to dodge all attacks. As I saw that she grew more tired I sped up and got to the stone knight where I slithered from head to toe and placed moss everywhere.

As I noticed the stone fraction where I placed the moss the stone knight noticed it as well and tried getting the moss off his body. But it was already too late the moss was spreading crazy and the only thing I had to do was wait and watch as he crumbled to dust. After the stone knight was dead Thalia gasped and said: " Thank you I would have never thought about that". And then she gave me a hug we stayed like that until she vacated startled and noticed that her cheeks were red and she turned away and whispered something about getting the axe the stone knight had left next to its dead self.

I also got a system message for killing the Stone Knight:

You killed a stone knight +60 Exp

That means I only have 24 Exp left until I get to level six. The stone knight was probably really hard to kill if you didn't use the moss tactic.

After we got the axe and the knight killed we went on with our way. Now we were much more alarmed of something attacking us out of the rain forest to our side. Two times a weird-looking monkey was swinging by over our heads.

As we walked for a while we found an old stone tower that was taller than all the trees so we climbed up and the view was just fantastic. But as we turned our heads we saw a giant pyramid in the middle of this place. When you look in the opposite direction ode the pyramid you can see a wall going to the left and right circling us so I guess that is the limitation of this place!

We were climbing down again and Thalia decided that we should head towards the stone pyramid. Which I could only nod my head to.

We have been walking for a while again. As the path went around a corner we came to a halt. Thalia said: "What is going on? I thought the path was supposed to bring us to the pyramid?" But I couldn't help her and only shrug my imaginary shoulders. She looked at me and knew that I couldn't give her any more information.

We had no choice but to go through the jungle. The second we walked into the jungle again two torches lit up.

It kinda seemed like we got into a new level of some sort. Immediately after we entered the jungle everything got foggy and the path we came from disappeared.

We found ourselves in a labyrinth made out of jungle trees. I thought a giant beast or something would appear every second now but nothing happened. We were still on guard for the possibility of something jumping at us from the jungle.

We again walked for quite some time. Already after the first steps we had taken into the jungle, I had the feeling we were being watched. Now we saw what was watching us. About 6 jaguars were standing in a clearing. They were of different height and standing in different locations. Some were standing on a promenade down ruin of some sort and watched down while others were on the ground. The biggest of the jaguars was standing on top of the ruined thing made out of stone.

All of them immediately jumped at us, except for the leader. He kept standing on top of the ruined stone sculpture.

As the first jaguar stormed at us Thalia lifted her two-handed axe above her head and slashed down at her foe splitting him into two. I was astonished by that. How could a normal human be that strong and improve this fast in a short amount of time? In the goblin camp, she was a lot weaker. Does everybody in this world have a system? But Thalia was never just looking in the air like I do when I inspect my status.

I shouldn't have let myself be distracted. Immediately after I snapped back to reality I got bitten by one of the jaguars. It hurt like hell but I bit back into his neck and after we spun around on the floor for a moment I managed to break his neck and kill him.

That was nice but I couldn't think about that for the moment because I got attacked by two other jaguars. I quickly took a glance at Thalia who was doing good against the other jaguar.

As the first of the two jaguars attacked me I put my tail around his neck and squeezed as hard as I could. He was quickly having problems to breath but I had other problems. The second jaguar. He stormed at me while I was still choking the first jaguar and tried to get me off by biting my head off. I quickly dodged his attack and put one of his eyes out while still choking the other jaguar. The second jaguar had problems because he was just a part of his site so I quickly concentrated on finishing the first jaguar.

After he was done and the second panther was getting up again he killed him rather easily, even though they were level 9. But I was rather strong for my level as I would say and the jaguar was already hurt a lot so it was manageable.

I looked over to Thalia and saw that she was also done with the jaguar she was fighting before. Now it was time to take on the jaguar that was still watching us from above.

We looked at each other into our eyes until I took a quick side glance at Thalia with a questioning facial expression. He chose that moment to attack and use it to his advantage.

He wanted to directly bite my head off but I dodged. It seemed that didn't matter because he directly came after me and punched me to the side with in of his paws. The next second I flew to the side but Thalia used the moment of distraction of the jaguar to get near his neck area and slash down. The now injured jaguar howled and turned to her just to revive a punch in the face. Now you made habe thought that did something but I didn't the he's of the big jaguar barely moved a few inches. He immediately tried biting her arm off but she couldn't pull it way fast enough and only got a scratch from her hand up to her shoulder.

After I recovered for a few seconds I bit in the nearest part I could find from the jaguar which was one of his legs. He turned around to attack me but at the same moment, Thalia pulled out the exe from his bag only to slash it into his neck even further which made him fall to the ground and whimper. I got to his head and quickly finished him off.

The system also told me that I had Levels bite 2 times which gave me +2 strength which brought my total to 25!

Now that we had finished the jaguar, I and Thalia felt rather tired and decided to take a break. After that, we would be going to travel in the direction of the giant temple and hopefully find out about its secrets.
