Having opted to save the last two scrolls, she remains on the wall, day and night, having not been relieved once, silver has no choice but to wake up every couple of hours to drink mana potions, but she refuses to complain. This continues on through the week, the only time someone visits, is to drop of more mana potions. A shipment every 6 hours. But unbeknownst to her, and everyone else, something nasty is happening inside silver, even she doesn't think much from the extra fatigue, chalking it up from waking up every couple of hours. But under her skin, some of the veins are slowly turning purple and silver, an indicator of mana poisoning, from being drained to the brink and refilled constantly without rest, her meridians are under heavy tolls from this war.
Having gained another level though, it has slowed its progress, for now. Now at level 23 and without any shift relief, She has no choice but to continue on, like this for another week, without relief, or any levels, though she has killed more than ten times the amount of beasts than anyone in the camp below her, Her condition worsens, her skin grows extremely pale, and if one was observing her looked closely, they would see spider web like purple lines, slowly creeping across her arm, and neck, some having reached her ears. By this point, Silver has entirely stopped managing the battle field, opting for default aggression for the turrets, she rests laying on the wide stone railing of the high wall. On the tuesday of the third week, one of the cooks who brings forward, walks over giving her a shake to wake her, this causes silver, who is is passed out, to fall off the wall, waking up halfway fown, with blurry vision, and just enough time to curl in on herself, before impacting the ground hard, a loud thud sound, reverberating throughout the small camp from the impact, Though one should note her turrets never cease firing, the only indicator that she is alive. Shortly after a sweating and nervous chef and a medic group arrive, finding a bleeding mangled silver, unconscious in a shallow hole made from her impact. An older Doctor seeing the discoloration of her veins frowns gravely, immediately running this up the chain of command to avi, that Silver, is suffering a lethal dose of mana poisoning, something extremely rare to happen, requiring someone to constantly use their mana for a very long time. As soon as avi arrives, the old doctor can be visibly seen quite upset as he walks over, his medical staff already doing everything they can, without pouring mana into her already poisoned body with healing abilities. "avi, this is bad, why is she like this? do you know how hard it is to end up this bad? i have seen thousands of minor cases from our soldiers in the past, but this? I am surprised her heart is still beating, it's invaded the majority of her major organs, including her heart, brain, and eyes, if she manages to survive, then she is running a very high risk of being forever disfigured...more than just the missing limb, she may never be able to use mana again without risking her life as a whole. What did you do?" the doctor's tone drops to a softer tone so only avi can hear. As avi was listening, her dark blue skin, grew paler and paler, at the realization that leaving her on the wall, without reprieve, may have severely harmed such an up and coming powerhouse. Taking a few moments to reply, and just as she intends to, the furious roar of the turrets outside draws her attention, making her grow even paler as she realizes, that even unconscious, silver is still fighting, worsening her state of health further. "We need to wake her and have her cease fire, I will order the troops to fill the gaps, and have more Mercenaries here by the end of the day, as for you, doctor...do what you can to save her, she is a rising star even if it doesn't look like it now." With this, Avi leaves, in search of recruiting more mercenaries.
In the void of darkness, where Silver has ended up in, floating with pain filling her, and no choice to to endure for now. A sudden bone chilling voice sounds deep within the void. 'Do you choose death so easily child? first, your arm, now your merideans. If I didn't know any better, I would say you are suicidal, but that's not it, it has never been the case for you. Is it you feel the most alive in a fight?'. Unable to respond, Silver remains silent in her agony, but the void starts growing grey as light invades, bit by bit. just before the void fades the voice speaks again. 'The fight has not left you yet child...' before more pain can be felt and the bright light of a surgical room can be noted, giving her a a splitting migraine, rolling to the side and vomiting the contents of her stomache, this stuns all the doctors surrounding her, as she has been unconscious and unmoving for a week now, without any response and her condition worsening as they couldnt stop the mana drain until she ran out several days ago. "wha....what happened?" she asks softly, her body still throbbing and her insides making her nauseous. Soon the door opens, revealing the older doctor, avi,and the young prince from before. The doctor seeing her awake walks over, a concerned but happy look on his face, showing ths clear concern for his patients regardless of race, making her feel more comfortable in his presence, even if just subconsciously. "Good you're awake, do you know where you are?" Nodding silver responded in a weak and quiet tone. "hospital tent, asari kingdom, east wall.Name,Silver Hailstorm. would have to see the date to know, never bothered with it anyhow." She gives all the details quickly not feeling up to playing 20 question trivia with a doctor right now. "what happened?" she asks after a moment wanting to know how she ended up here and feeling like death rolled over. The doctor doesn't answer, instead looking at the two at the doorway, the prince looking quite abashed as he stares at his feet avoiding looking at her, but to avi's credit, even though one can tell she is struggling, she keeps her eyes on silver as they step closer. Avi begins explaining the entire situation to silver. "We had a failure on our end, and after seeing your capabilities, we made a bad judgement, and did not send any forces to relieve you, thus we caused you to push you merideans and mana expenditure to the limits, resulting in you developing a fairly rare illness we call mana poisoning, you didnt just develop it, the illness ended up being pushed to the extreme, actually, by the words of the doctor himself, we are unsure how you are alive, much less conscious now, considering your physical condition, we thought you would be in a coma for quite some time, and maybe never to be able to use mana again..." at this Avi takes Silver's remaning arm and holding it up showing the dark purple and silvery spider webs under her extreme sickly and pale skin. "We made a mistake, one we don't want to make again, and an injury we can't even fix, with that, we are here to repay you for...for potentially sacrificing your future in order to help us." With that avi steps back and the young prince steps forward, at first for a few moments he is silent, watching Silver's pale face, even though exhaustion is tugging on her even now, one can tell her fighting spirit hasn't died yet. "whatever you want, name it, we will pay it without a second thought. It was never our or this kingdoms intention to cause harm to the ones we asked for help, it is inevitable for some to gain injuries or die on the battlefield but we do not purposefully harm them in the process,so consider this the kingdoms apology, and we have already sent a large wealth to your family, as remuneration for this incident, but, I personally did not feel it was enough, so as a prince of the kingdom, I promise so long as what you want is within my power, you can have it..." At that he grows quiet. Silver closes her eyes, too tired to hold them open mumbling only two words before drifting off. "advancement...scrolls..." and like that Silver passes out again, her body struggling to repair itself, even with her incredible physique and healing ability, the energy and time taken to repair her merideans and to draw the poison out of her brain, eyes, heart, and other internal organs, is a heavy toll, what no one, not even silver realized, is that what she had vomited, was somthing akin to liquid silver and blood. Her body already finding a way to save her, even if it is unknown to everyone.
In the void of time and space, a being sitting atop a throne, adorned with engravings of battles long forgotten smirks under a heavy dark hood before speaking into the void, anyone who would here this voice would shiver in fear. "No rest for the wicked, and you child...you are very wicked."
