How to Not Handle a Paranormal Eperience

Keeping quiet about the weird grandma voice mimic in the forest during dinner helped it be a pleasant and calm event, but the thoughts of what happened kept rushing through Ed's head, but not of terror, no, it was excitement. His hands were shaking, his mind was racing, and all he wanted to do was experience that again. Thinking about it he regretted not investigating the situation more because he knew for sure if he went back out nothing would be there.

Wrapping up dinner with nothing eventful happening, Ed started the drive back home but that didn't stop him from talking to his best friend about what happened. He connected his phone to a black cord attached to his cars radio and called up Mills with an excited tremble in his voice. Before greetings could even be said Ed started on about the scary encounter.

"That was definitely not your grandma bro, now way no how." Ed was adamant about his statement

"Probably some random hiker or something that had a similar sounding voice playing a prank. " Mills said sounding a lot less interested in it then Ed was.

"Did you just forget that voice was saying your name or something, don't you think it was something more than human?" Ed asked genuinely.

"I don't know, but what I do know is that there are a million and one explanations for what it is and all of them are boring, unlike what you're probably thinking." Mills was less enthused.

"Yo whatever it is we need to have more experiences like that, because the abandoned properties we explored have been scary, but that was different, it was exhilarating." Ed's excitement was audible in his tone making his voice shake. Mills picking up on this tried to talk some last ditch sense in him talking about the dangers of the word, but the prospect of slowing down in his search for the unknown has never entered his mind, so he won't let it now.

"Tomorrow night I'll call you and we will take your car to that run down factory, don't forget to pack your stuff and remember not to wear those stupid neon bright orange shorts, they're stupid and stand out." And with that it was goodbye and bed time, but only after he registers his rental back.

Ed slept, woke up, and started his day getting ready and looking up stories about mimics and monsters that copy your voice, which came back with mixed results. A lot of fairy tales of monsters and stories came up that occupied Ed for a long time, of course eating and looking through his phone to, but soon the time for adventure came.

Mills showed up to his apartment and sent Ed a text and after 30 minutes they were parked some distance away from the chain perimeter fence. Gearing up with flashlights, gloves, knives, and other tools they went on their way checking around their surroundings for anyone or thing suspicious.

"You think another bad things gonna happen." Mills was probably still paranoid from last night.

"I'm hoping." said Ed which prompted a defeated sight from Mills

Squeezing through the brutally cut chain-link fence Mills continued on to say "Man your lucky I care about you living so much that I can't let you die by yourself."

"Don't pretend not to love the thrill at least a little bit. " Ed said with a smile and laugh

"Hell no, you won't see me anywhere scary on purpose without you, because when there is a real threat, damn I'll leave my own mama if I gotta." Mills was not going to budge but Ed found it nice that he probably would have left his mama in the same situation yesterday outside his grandma's.

Coming up on the entrance they made yesterday Ed noticed a small green toy shoulder that wasn't there yesterday. It was muddy and missing an arm.

"What you got there, aren't we going in." Noticing Eds distracted state Mills was worried.

Slipping the soldier in his pocket he says its nothing and for the first time Ed and Mills entered the abandoned factory. There was no sign, or information online about this place, it was like it was purposely hidden only stating it was a factory owned by the Stella's corporation. This information only aiding in Ed's excitement for this particular building.

After plopping through the metal hole they made the flashlights they brought were used and the site that greeted them was, an office room. A big black rolling chair was sat on top of the office table with 8 wooden chairs placed in weird patterns around the already cramped room.

"Now this is what I'm talking about." Was what Ed said as he looked in this room. There was no graffiti, there were no papers thrown everywhere, nothing was even broken, but it was weird.

Setting ground rules to only whisper, be quiet, and no excessive flashlight use from now on, Ed brought out a camera that has night mode capabilities, a lot of his saved money went into this baby and he was going to get his use out of it by getting mysterious things captured on it.

Peering out the office door that was already a-jar Mills made an all clear gesture to Ed but before that Mills said "I'm hot." With that said Mills took off his pants revealing obnoxious bright orange shorts and a big smile "Now I'm ready."

After this was said a mid adventure scuffle broke out in this office. Calming down from the shock of the orange shorts Ed and Mills went back to leaving the office which opened up into a corridor. This factory was big but most of it was huge empty rooms, so the part they broke into was compact and full off many different rooms for different things.

The place was left neat and tidy with the dates on papers dating 10 years and more ago. The windows were double boarded up everywhere they were seen. The lack of furniture and equipment added to the empty dull feeling that emanated from this place. No other rooms besides the office room they broke into had any type of weird patterns laid out by chairs, just neat and organized with layers of dust and cobwebs.

"Damn this place is empty and dreary, but I don't know if this is that scary, because that abandoned drug den we went to had me more scared than anything, although it was probably the loose needles that did that." Feeling more comfortable after a few minutes of exploring Mills said this out loud.

"There is such a good atmosphere here too. It's too bad this place has been gutted of everything useful, nothing is here to see. Before we go -" Before Ed's sentence was finished he was stopped in his tracks. Noticing this behavior Mills walked up next to him as followed his eyesight to see what he's looking at. It was inside the third room they went in which was another office, but this time it was different.

The chairs were arranged sideways and upside down, just in all sorts of ways identical to the room they entered the factory through. Without any words needed the flashlights were shut off in an attempt to not draw attention.

"What the hell, what the hell." Was said in quick succession by Mills who almost went into shock as he started to get adrenaline shakes.

Ed was in elation thinking about something like this happening, but the way the chairs were moved silently so close to them and so fast unnerved him to no end making him rethink reality a little. A decision needed to be made to get out of here or to investigate further, and Ed wanted to investigate, but Mills has other plans. Racing away from Ed to the exit of the building at a walk pace so fast he was almost at running speed, Mills was determined to leave.

Ed wasn't about to let this mystery be just that forever, he wanted to know bad, so he caught up to Mills grabbing him in an attempt to calm things down and keep exploring now that they knew it was worth doing so. But things went poorly.

"Nuh uh Nuh uh, now way Jose, are we exploring to find a Jenga ghost dude, screw that and you." Ed already had a grip on Mills as he tried to forcefully escape causing another scuffle, this moved both them into the hallway with a dead end on one of the sides.

During this a rolling chair was hit away by the interaction and while Ed was trying to convince Mills to stay the sound of wheels being rolled was getting closer. From the dark dead end part of the office the chair was pushed back with quite the force causing both Ed and Mills jaws to drop in fear.

Both their undivided attention was placed at the back of the room, they were keeping absolutely still, making sure not to make a noise. Two doors face each other at the dead end both opening up to small closets, but that didn't stop the black deformed figure of a uniformed man crawl out eerily from the closet just to cram itself into the one in front of it, it seemed to be missing limbs.

This time Ed was right behind Mills as he only reacted a second faster than him. No words were said and stifled gasps and yells escaped from both their mouths during the escape. Hearts beating like drums in their ears as they tried to find the office they broke into from the outside. Almost no terror at this point in his life has come close to this and it was worsened by those stupid looking orange shorts running Infront of him, but all he could see at this point was that neon bright color which helped him not lose Mills, not that he will ever admit those shorts have helped before.

"Here, here that's the door." With a quick verbal confirmation Mills and Ed found the right office and ran straight through it to the exit. Ed noticed that there were no chairs in the office excluding the rolling chair on the table, but they were not in a position to study this as both the men make their escape getting cut and hurt on the way out.

Making it out of the factory they bolted straight to the fence and without wasting any time they started to crawl. Mills was the first one back to his car unlocking it with the key fob he had and starting it up right away. Ed jumped in right after and just said go.

There were a few minutes of silence on the road before it was broken by Mills. "We didn't handle that well huh."

"No Mills, no we didn't."
