But for a three-hour story, he would need four hours of film.
It was simply an unsolvable problem.
Also, during this Thanksgiving weekend, entering its second week, "La La Land" maintained a steady box office trend, taking in $39.95 million over the weekend.
Adding the four days of revenue, including the Thanksgiving holiday, the North American box office for the film reached $145 million.
And the film's reception remained strong.
