What Happened? (2)

Thalia was surprised that all the shouting and ruckus had not brought anyone out of their room. She did not care at that moment in time. She only had one slipper on and did not bother looking for the other one. She ran out onto the street until she got to the main road a few minutes later. She finally flagged down a taxi, and when she opened the door,

"Thalia?"

It was another familiar face, Dennis!

"Den-nis – yo-u- never mind, please drive!"

Dennis did not ask a second question and drove off hurriedly,

"Are you okay?" He asked; Thalia looked dishevelled; there were bruises on her bare arms, and the baby was crying non-stop in her arms. She was also trembling so much that it took her a while to give out Flora's new address, which was about twenty-five minutes from where they were.

Dennis drove her there safely but refused to take money for his service.
