Yan Shu was born into a prominent family, with two older brothers above her who doted on and protected her, parents at home who spoiled and loved her, and grandparents who held her dear in their hearts. Growing up under their wings, she had never experienced trials and tribulations nor witnessed the cutthroat nature of high society. This nurtured her into someone whose delicate and frail disposition easily fell apart under pressure.
While her parents and brothers were around, no one dared bully her, but as soon as they were absent, those young ladies from wealthy families would show their dark claws. Everyone wanted to make their presence felt by picking on her, and she had been bullied more than once.
Over the years, she had grown accustomed to it. Then suddenly, one day, a girl younger than her appeared out of nowhere to save her and told her not to be a pushover, to roll up her sleeves and get to work, which surprised and intrigued her.
