Mr. Sheng patiently listened to the Housekeeper's words and asked, "What does Gu Enen want with her and Han Chengchi's photos?"
"It seems they are for the wedding, scheduled for the end of next month."
"And Chu Chu? Is she unhappy?"
"No, Lady Shan seems to be in a good mood. She went to the kitchen and made two dishes."
"Is that so?" Mr. Sheng asked blandly, fell silent for a while, then heard the Housekeeper's voice again, "Lady Shan made Dongpo pork and West Lake vinegar fish. She even selected a few especially good pieces of Dongpo pork to set aside, saying they were for Mr. Sheng."
A faint smile appeared on Mr. Sheng's face, and he asked again, "Is that so?"
But this "Is that so?" was distinctly different in tone from the previous one.
Afraid that Mr. Sheng wouldn't believe her, the Housekeeper hurriedly turned and went to the kitchen, brought back a plate, took some chopsticks, and handed them to Mr. Sheng.
