Grandpa Sheng Shi lived in the standalone courtyard in the very center, with three other separate courtyards on each side. On the left were the residences of Sheng Shi's three aunts, while on the right, the front was his eldest uncle's house and the back was their own. Even further back was the place Grandpa had given to him on his eighteenth birthday.
Sheng Shi ambled toward the inside, heading to his own home. To get there, he first had to pass the entrance of his eldest uncle's separate courtyard. Glancing in, he just happened to see his aunt sitting in the courtyard having tea with his little cousin. Sheng Shi also stole a glance at his own home's entrance, purely as a way to delay the pending scolding and punishment. Hooking his lips into a smile, he lazily made his way into his eldest uncle's courtyard.
His little cousin was the first to spot Sheng Shi. She greeted him with a cheery smile, had a chair brought for him, and even personally poured him some tea.
