A decoy trap Part I

Owen’s eyes went wide. He seemed shocked by the change in my actions. I still managed to give him a smile. I withdrew and arranged his shirt, so it looked like I was only joking. However, there was a hint of warning, so he would get a glimpse of what would happen if he hurt me.

I was brave enough to do anything now that I had nothing left.

I might have nothing, but what he should keep in mind the most was that I possessed what no one else had.

I had the megalodons.

“Thanks for patching me up. Without you, I would have died from infection.”

“Sol…”

“You don't have to worry about me. I’ll be more careful from now on. So that no one can hurt me again.” I laughed, just as cheerful as a small child. I wanted him to see that I was the same person and not that different from before—even if it made him a little suspicious.

But I did not care. I had a lot more to do than he thought.

“I’m going to excuse myself and smoke for a bit so we can work out our next plan.”
