CHAPTER 80

PIPER

When I open my eyes, there's only more darkness.

I blink a few times. When the darkness doesn't fade, I start to panic. "Timofey," I breathe, reaching across the bed for him.

My hand lands on a familiar, muscular thigh.

"Relax. It's a blindfold," he says. I hear the amusement in his voice, which is the only reason I don't start freaking out.

"You know it is extremely not socially acceptable to wake people up with blindfolds, right?"

"What society does and does not accept is the least of my worries, Piper."

He is not wrong there. Being the leader of a Bratva is probably pretty high on the list of things polite society would hold against him.

Briefly, I wonder what it says about me that I'm thrilled he's in bed next to me. Or what it says about me that we dida lotmore than sleep in this bed last night.
