Minty Arrives

The next morning had arrived and Cyrus, Dawn, and Edith were all gathered in the living room. They were all hanging around the couch trying to find something to watch but everything they could find was a news channel.

This was their first morning without a mission in a long while and they couldn't even watch anything, this irritated Dawn and Edith.

Dawn was taking a look at the Television, it was a large HD flat-screen and it would have been perfect for playing games with but he didn't have any consoles with him or any games he could play on them.

Frustrated on the matter Dawn had turned to Cyrus and asked him, "Cyrus! Where is that videogame you promised me?"

Edith had turned around and looked at Cyrus raising her eyebrow to this, "Videogame you promised?"

Cyrus quickly explained to Edith how he lost to Dawn in a game of rock, paper, and scissors and now he was in debt to him. While doing so he made a face towards Dawn that signaled his hatred at almost being ratted out. Dawn kept his mouth shut right after.

"Ha ha ha," Edith was overjoyed by what she heard, "Rock, paper, scissors? You were beat in a game of rock paper and scissors!? Maybe I should play you then.

"Don't forget that you owe me a favor from your earlier loss, Edith," Cyrus reminded her sly smile placed upon his face.

Edith shrunk back as she realized she had better things to do than to tease Cyrus.

"I have brought the snacks!" Vito yelled as he walked into the room.

"M-me too," Terra muffled as he was munching on the set of snacks that he brought along with him.

"Ouuu! Gimme gimme gimme," Edith happily said as she grabbed what was brought in.

"So much for sharing," Cyrus sighed.

Vito shrugged as he walked past him towards the couch, "Hey blame Terra for eating your share!"

"What!" Terra snapped at the mention of his name, "No fair, don't you dare pin this on me, you were busy munching on some yourself on the way here!"

"Ayy!" Vito shouted as he stood up, "Terra you snitch, you just can't keep your mouth closed can you?"

Terra placed his hands high, "Hey, you put me under the rag, I put you under the rag. And where is John by the way?" Terra asked.

Suddenly from out in the hallway, John walked up to the group, "I've been nearby the whole time. For a group of people who seem to hate waking up early, you all seem energetic when it is a day without any missions.

Everyone was mostly smiling at what was said because it was true, everyone except for two, Dawn and Cyrus.

Dawn simply because he didn't smile much and Cyrus was because he felt like John had been looking at him more often than not in the last 24hrs.

"Why did you call us all here, John? Cyrus asked with folded arms across his chest.

John couldn't help but think, 'This kid, even now still acts this way only to me. Did Ariel do something to him or someone he knows because now it feels personal.'

Before John could explain to everyone why they were gathered here, a sizzling sound could be heard in the air as a blue light was emitting from the kitchen, not soon after, a special somebody had walked in.

Dressed in mostly white with intricacies of black to compliment the outfit, the woman had a white scarf wrapped around her neck that went down to her waist, a white Victoria felt fedora with a lining of black on it, white heel boots and pants, a white shirt with a small white jersey on top of it that had its buttons in black with a small shin of gold, a black belt with a white buckle.

And to top it all off, she had a white purse in her hand and was wearing sunglasses.

That woman was Minty and she was making her way into the living room.

John had a peculiar look on his face when he saw her, 'Those aren't the clothes of someone who was on a mission. Was she on vacation? NOW? Even I haven't gone on vacation in a while, more like I don't have the time for it.'

John was going to question what she was doing before she got here later, as for right now he had an announcement to make to everyone.

"Alright, I have gathered you all here to inform you that though our time has been short, I must take my leave now, I have other business-related matters to attend to so I will be leaving you in the care of Minty. She will provide for you and instruct you in the meantime."

"What!" Edith complained, "But we were just getting to know you better! John, are you leaving already? What about all the all-you-can-eat restaurants we didn't go towards yet?"

John would have found that comment sweet if she didn't include the part about the restaurants, he felt reduced to a wallet in her eyes with the way she said it. Still more he was glad he would be missed.

"Unfortunately," Minty replied, "he has more important matters and can't stay here. I will be in charge of your next set of missions moving forward, so K-"

"John," John corrected her as he let out a small cough to interrupt, "It is John."

Minty looked him over and then nodded her head at his statement, "John shall be taking his leave."

Everyone who was there found it weird that John had corrected Minty on his name, 'Just what was she going to call him,' they wondered, mostly Cyrus.

John then turned to look at Cyrus and Cyrus caught on to this immediately, "Cyrus, before I leave I would like to have a word with you. May we speak in the office?"

Edith bumped his arm as she asked him playfully, "What did you do?"

"I guess I'll find out," he said as he and John left the room.

Minty allowed them to leave before asking those who remained a question, "What do you plan on doing today now that John is leaving you?"

"Nothing much," Terra said, "It's a free day so we decided to rest."

"Rest?" Minty asked, "The world could be ending soon and you want to rest? I see. Alright I will allow for you all to rest, except you!" she pointed at Terra.

"Why me?" Terra asked pointing at himself.

"You are the representative of this planet, the representative of mankind and you think you have to rest on a day like this? We are going to the training hall to develop on your fighting skills, after which you will do, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and even a 10km run. This is your resting day," Minty said.

Terra was flabbergasted, "What about them!" he said as he pointed towards the rest of the group.

"They get to rest, they can start training tomorrow. Let us begin now." After saying this, Minty drugged Terra off somewhere through the hallway as he pleaded for help or for at least Vito to tag along.

"I am sorry my friend, but you must continue this Journey without me," Vito whispered.

"Well, what do we do now?" Edith asked.

"Well, we could explore this place again, it is really big so there will be tons to see," Vito said, "In fact, I know of a place that you might like really really much."

"Alright then," Edith shrugged, "If you are recommending it then it better be good."

And with that Vito and Edith with up the flight of stairs that was nearby and headed to the second floor. All while leaving Dawn all alone to himself with a Television that played news channels and some sports.

"Everyone left," he said as he took in his solitude.

"Well it's not like I expected anyone to invite me anyways," he said again out loud in the quiet room.

After a few moments of nothing but the news channel making noise, Dawn decided to go down to the Aquarium to talk to his white shark fish once again.

"At least they like me," he said as he walked down the stairs.
