Terra's Story

"Today's the day that we finally get to go on a mission with Minty," Terra said excitedly as he stretched his arms out of bed. He was going to go ahead of everyone and start his day by Jogging around the building they were in.

"I still don't know if I should call this a base of secret operations or a mansion. It could be both, both are good."

He was now outside and stretching his legs and his lower body, Terra was bouncing up and down preparing to make a couple of laps around the building. "I feel like five should be good, yeah five is a lucky number."

He began running laps around the base, he would make one full rotation and then stop to feel some flowers after which he would continue again. He didn't want to rely on his powers to keep him fit, he wanted to naturally keep his physique and then have the powers as a bonus, otherwise, he feared he would become dependent on them and lazy.

This act of running around early in the morning had particularly gotten the attention of Cyrus who was watching from the window. He decided he would join Terra in his endeavor.

As Terra was lying down by a bush of lilies, he looked up to see a greenhouse at the top of the building. "I really should go and visit that place sometime."

"Maybe we can go together," a voice said from someone behind him.

Turning around Terra gasped to see Cyrus watching directly over him. He jumped up in fear as he posed his arms and a leg up defensively. "How did you get so close to me?" he asked startled.

"I didn't, I was always here, waiting. I knew that you would take a break after every lap you did so I stood here and waited for you. You didn't sense anyone approaching because you approached me, not the other way around. Water?" He asked handing out a bottle to Terra.

Terra raised an eyebrow at him, even if he was standing around there Terra should have still felt somebody was there. He squeezed his eyes at him in suspicion as he took the water bottle and drank from it.

"Wow you are trusting, that could have been poison," Cyrus smirked.

Terra at once spit out all the water he was drinking.

"Kidding, I am kidding, don't pour your water on me!" Cyrus said ducking to the side to avoid the splash.

"Did you come here just to mess with me? Shouldn't you be teasing Vito or something?" Terra asked.

"I came to check on a friend, after watching you run nearly every morning it was only natural that I would come and join you eventually. What I want to know is why though. Is it because you are an athlete?"

Terra opened his mouth in a gasp wondering how Cyrus was doing all of this and Cyrus on the inside couldn't help but acknowledge that Terra had an honest face. 'He easily displays what he is feeling, he doesn't hide emotions. A good trait to have sometimes.'

"I was only guessing with the way you take pride in staying fit. What was it? A club? perhaps soccer?"

Terra went from looking at Cyrus to looking back at the bottle of water, he shook it a bit and then drank from it again as he sat down. "It's a long story," he said.

"I can make time," Cyrus smiled as he sat down next to Terra. "If you are willing to share it."

Terra shook his head back and forth as he debated on it and Cyrus was almost about to tell him that he didn't have to tell him when suddenly Terra decided to talk. "It was in high school."

"I was pretty new to the school, a junior. When I first arrived around the middle of the semester, every club was preying around trying to get me to join them. They were all looking forward to having a new member become one of them."

"I wasn't into clubs, I didn't even join any before I went to that school so I didn't know what they were. Or how many there were. One by one they kept on asking and asking and eventually I decided to give them a try."

"Unfortunately I made the stupid decision of joining every club possible. At once."

At this point, Cyrus giggled at Terra's story. "Hey, it's not funny, I was young and didn't know what I was doing!!"

"Wasn't this a few years ago?" Cyrus laughed, "You couldn't have been that young."

Terra was getting frustrated at Cyrus laughing and stood up when suddenly Cyrus pulled him back down. "Okay, I will stop. You may continue."

"I don't want to anymore," Terra pouted.

*Haah* "How about this, you finish your story and I will let you know something personal about myself that no one else here knows." Cyrus proposed.

"You being serious?" Terra asked.

"I mean it," Cyrus answered puffing his chest out.

Terra had no reason to doubt that Cyrus would keep his word so he went along with it.

"Alright, so I joined every club because I was promised that I could leave if I didn't want to stay, which I didn't, so for every club meeting I would give my best, and after it ended I would leave."

"I was planning on finding a club activity that I would enjoy the most and stay in it, but after 2 weeks of going through it, I decided that clubs are the worst and that I wanted nothing to do with them. Still, I had a few more to cross off my list."

"In the last week of my club activities, I found a club I decently liked. It was the board games club and though I hated chess I loved Monopoly and Snakes and Ladders. I would lose at Monopoly but I dominated those ladders. So much so that I almost decided to stay."

"But?" Cyrus asked.

"But then I met the last club on the list that I didn't visit yet. The track and field team. Those guys were the worst!!" Terra let out a sigh as he said this.

"You say they were bad, but you don't mean that, do you?" Cyrus smirked.

*Argh!* "As you know, I would join and then give it my best and then leave, what I didn't expect was that I was so good at running that I beat the top three best 10th graders with ease. I even thought they were going easy on me."

"I wanted to leave right after it was over but they wouldn't let me. I told them that I was 2 grades lower than them and that it wouldn't make sense for me to hang around with them but they just wouldn't let me go. And eventually, they called the club president."

"She was a dauntless girl, a little shorter than me but almost the same height. She was two years older than me and despite being in 10th grade, she was the leader of the track and field club. She was THAT talented."

"She had this long silky black hair that reached past her shoulders down to her back and she would always wear this baseball cap on her head. And despite having a big chest size she still didn't let that slow her down when she ran."

"Hold on hold on," Cyrus stopped him. "How big are we talking about here?"

Terra was a little flustered hearing this, "Why does it matter?"

"You just said she had big breasts right?" Cyrus asked.

"Dude you don't have to be so direct!" Terra said.

"I just want to know how big they were for her to be the fastest person on that track team, I need to know for research, Terra."

Terra didn't want to look at Cyrus when he said this, "I guess they were pretty big. Maybe like.. C cup?"

"Like C cup? So like Edith because they are C cup too, though on the lower end." Cyrus said as he gestured around his chest, puffing up the air around it.

"Cyrus," Terra said as he held his hands together near his face and then swung them down, "I don't even know how you know that and I don't want to know, but if it will get us past this point of the conversation then yes I will admit that they were bigger than Edith. Slightly."

"You must have a good eye for you to say slightly at the end. Though I am not surprised, Edith is on the lower end of the C cup so I guess she was on the higher end. Anyways continue."

Terra took a breather before he continued, "Anyways the club members took the matter to her and told her that they wanted me to join, and when she saw me, she instantly knew she wanted me on her team, at least that's what she said."

Cyrus was making a face at Terra's side but he didn't bother looking at him.

"When she heard that I wanted to join the boardgame club she got mad at me saying I would be wasting my talents over there."

"So she made me an offer, if I could beat her in a track race where we lap around the field once, then she would let me join any club I wanted but if I lost then I would have to join her club. I didn't think it through and wanted to get it over with so I said yes. I should've made the deal more favorable for myself."

"We lined up getting ready to start and then before the announcer could say go, she stopped the match, walked up to me, and kissed me for good luck. The was my first ever kiss and I didn't know how to react."

"I just stood there like an idiot with my face red," Terra said as he covered his head with his shirt in front of Cyrus.

*Whistle* "Wow, she is bold. Walked up to a guy she liked and kissed him with no hesitation, unlike a certain girl I know. Speaking of kisses, looks like Edith wasn't your first kiss, ha ha she would hate to hear that."

"Please don't tell her this," Terra said still covering his face. "I fear she would try and kill me if she found out. That kiss she gave me was supposed to be special to her because I was leaving the Earth as a hero or something like that and she already got mad that she saw me just a few hours after it."

"If she found out that it wasn't even my first kiss but that she came second, I would fear for my life."

"Don't worry," Cyrus said, "Your secret is safe with me. Now about the track team?"

Terra let his face out of his shirt, "As she kissed me, her best friend with glasses and short hair came in between my legs and untied my shoelaces. So when the kiss was over I was left unprepared."

"GO! the announcer yelled suddenly and the kiss was over. The club president ran as fast as she could and that was when I knew I was set up. I tripped and fell trying to catch up with her and before I knew it, I was a member of the track and field club."

Cyrus stretched his legs forward as he leaned backward, "So she stole your first kiss and roped you into the club? Yikes!"

"Yeah she did," Terra said but there was a smile forming across his face. "But I never regretted joining it. Yes, they were a nuisance and would always steal me away in my free time but every time we trained together I felt us growing closer. They were the first set of friends that I ever had in school."

"And the girl?" Cyrus asked.

"I wanted to ask her out. Make her my girlfriend... So I did." Terra said as he turned his face further and further away from Cyrus.

"Did you get rejected!? After she stole your first kiss?" Cyrus gasped with his hands around his face.

"No!" Terra yelled as he brought his face closer to Cyrus and after realizing that Cyrus was just teasing him he backed off.

"She made a condition. That is we ever qualified for the nationals, she would officially become my girlfriend."

"So she used you?" Cyrus asked.

"That's not it," Terra said, "Even though she said those words, she had already gone and told the school that we were dating. Even her best friend would go and advertise us as much as she could to get the other girl's eyes off me."

"We were basically dating without saying that we were dating and we shared more than one kiss already. She just kept saying that so I would try my hardest to make it to the finals, it was to motivate me to become a little more competitive since I never saw the value in it before."

"After everything we went through, 2 years later we had qualified for the nationals. The whole team was thrilled and excited about it and it was her last year in school. My last chance to be with her. It was nerve-racking that despite us dating for all that time I still had to ask her out again because I had promised I would once we qualified."

"It was the talk of the school, everyone was celebrating and chatting about how I was going to officially ask her out again and how she would say yes. They even started making theories of how I would do it."

"I bet he will give her flowers near a lake," A female student said.

"I bet they will do it on the rooftop at sunset," A male student said.

"I bet they will do it during school hours behind the classroom windows for everyone to see," a teacher suggested.

"Before you even say it, yes. Teachers were shipping us together," Terra said.

"I wasn't going to say anything," Cyrus deflected with his hands up.

"Sure," Terra rolled his eyes, "I was going to ask her out... I was going to... But then the gang war started."

"One thing led to another and my family was killed, inside my house. I came home to see something I never should have seen and I dropped out of school after that. I haven't seen her since and with how much time has passed, I don't think she even remembers me anymore."

"Everyone in school must have been disappointed that I bailed. The romance story they were all so excited about was crushed by reality, by a boy who fled without a word. So that's my story. Not the happy ending you were looking for, is it?"

"You know Cyrus, I have never been the type to hold a grudge but the one group of people I can never forgive... are the group of people with ties to the mafia."

Cyrus stared at Terra intently. He blinked his eyes and took off his glasses, blinked again, and then put them back on. He couldn't believe what he had heard but he knew his ears didn't deceive him.

It was at this moment that he made a vow never to tell Terra that Vito had anything to do with the Mafia and he would later make Vito do the same. Not that Vito was going to anyway.

"Well that was my story, what is yours?" Terra asked. "You said you would share something personal with me, right?"

Cyrus stood up and stretched, "That I did, but did I say that I would do it today? Nope."

"What!?" Terra yelled, "Y-you cheater!"

"I know I am but besides it is almost time to meet up with Minty and go for the mission and you have only done four laps so far. Let's finish the fifth one together before we go. And be careful with your shoelaces, they are untied."

Terra looked down at his shoes and saw that they were perfectly fine and when he looked up, he saw that Cyrus was already running and was using his powers to keep his stamina up as he ran.

"Cyrus!!!" Terra screamed as he was going red, he would not let him get away with this behavior.
