304. Good riddance.

"I—" Her voice comes out low, "I worry about Kiva immensely," she says, "after all she is the only family I have." As I expected.

"But, I do hope His highness Prince Laurius would return safely." She says with a straight face and I almost laugh but I hold it back.

But then she adds, "After all, I'll be out of job if anything happens to him. So he has to come back well." And I can no longer hold the laughter. I let it out.

So she does care about Laurius. She tries to hide it but I guess working with him no matter how unfortunate the fate that brought them together was, working with him must have softened at least a tiny part of her heart.

"You truly are friends with Kiva." I simply say.

"Why do you say that?" She asks then belatedly adds, "Your Majesty."

"Nothing." I shrug. "You just—" I pause as I hear a moan come from within the lips of the Reinhart boy.

I shift my attention to him "Are you awake?" I ask.
