Hidden Darkness

Jiang Chen was also not that happy when the mausoleum appeared, as he felt an eerie aura that made him feel disgusted.

Although the dark, weird aura is so light that most martial artists would not even notice it, having such a weird thing in the mausoleum is not a good sign.

Since he felt disgusted instinctively, he believed this dark, eerie aura was not a good thing, as practising the [Infinite Cosmos Sutra] made him many times more sensitive than ordinary martial artists.

Now that his instincts are telling him this is bad, this is likely to be bad.

"Let's see what's here."

He wanted to finish this fast, as the commotion caused by the mausoleum should have alerted all the martial artists nearby, and they would all be coming here soon. Even if he is not afraid of all of them, the lesser the problem, the better for him.

Jiang Chen quickly entered the mausoleum, but he was not careless since his gut was telling him there was something dangerous there.

When he entered, he appeared to be in a large hall with multiple gigantic burning pillars emitting powerful auras and heat.

The heat emitted by these pillars was enough to make this place so hot that innate martial artists would not be able to survive a minute here before they burned to crisp, and even spirit masters would find it difficult to survive here for a few minutes.

The flames also do not seem to be ordinary, as they have a sacred aura that can burn heaven and earth.

"This should be Phoenix Flame!"

Jiang Chen looked at the pillar burning with flames and thought.

"It seems the pillars are not randomly arranged."

They were all burning specifically with a specific rhythm, continuously changing.

Sizzle! Sizzle!

"Formation! That's it."

"These pillars are arranged in some sort of formation."

He finally figured out what those pillars were about after looking through them. The formation here seemed to gather all the force needed to suppress something in the largest pillar in the centre of the mausoleum.

Jiang Chen came closer to the centre pillar, which was many times bigger than the rest and was burning with such strong flames that even he did not dare to go too close to it, as the phoenix flames on it were strong enough to burn him.

The flame and energy of the flames were sinking in the underground, which means this flame pillar formation is suppressing something beneath here.

As a normal person with an ordinary brains, he knew there might be something bad beneath the mausoleum, so as an ordinary person, he did not mess with it and went deeper inside the mausoleum to find something that did not have dangers attached to it.

As he moved deeper outside, the whole Phoenix Valley and nearby cities were in chaos because of the sudden appearance of a light pillar in the sky.

All the martial artists started moving, leaving everything behind, and coming towards this mausoleum with full force.

There were even many old monsters of the king's realm who were also awakened by this phenomenon, especially the hidden masters in Phoenix City. As they were closest to the valley, they were the ones who felt the vast, superior aura the best.

Immediately, many hidden masters in the city—many half-step kings and four King realm martial artists—appeared in the sky, shaking the city with their powerful aura.

"Senior, what is that?"

Looking at the pillar of light in the sky, one of the kings asked a middle-aged looking man with one eye and a burned scar on his forehead who had the deepest and most mysterious aura on him.

This person was none other than the most mysterious city lord of Phoenix City, whose age, birth, and true strength are unknown.

"It finally opened."

"It is the biggest chance for all the martial artists in the 'Hundred Kingdom Alliance' to change their destiny."

His eyes glowed slightly as he slowly murmured in a low voice and moved towards the mausoleum.

"Let's go."

The other three king martial artists looked at each other and quickly followed the city lord as they believed him. Different martial artists from all over the city also ran towards the Phoenix Valley to try to get the chance that appeared.

At that very same time, deep within the Phoenix Valley, in a dark and eerie underground place, unknown entities gathered together.

There were thousands and thousands of dark, weird beings like shadows gathering together, with five leading figures standing tall among the thousands.

"It is weak already; few can already leave."

One of the five shadows, one who seemed to have two big horns, spoke with eagerness in his voice.

"Yes, but it's still not enough; we need to increase the speed; should we send some minions?" Another one of the five said he had a weird head that seemed to be burning or covered in flames.

After saying all of them seem to be waiting for the decision by the person whose shape and physique cannot be seen, as he or she is covered with darkness and only crimson red eyes, which can crush anyone's soul with a single glance, can be seen in the darkness.

"Send them."

And moments later, among thousands of shadow-like entities, they appeared in front of the portal and disappeared in it.

While all of this was happening, Jiang Chen was continuing his treasure hunt as he moved deeper into the mausoleum.

This place was enormous, as the entire interior of the mausoleum was in an entirely different space, making it many times larger than what it looked like from the outside.

The whole place might be bigger than the entire Phoenix Valley or might be even bigger.

This means this place is not something King realm martial artists can create; only being in the saint realm can achieve such feats and create such a big realm.
