The cost-benefit ratio was terrible. You'd waste a ton of that precious energy just trying to extract it.

No one could deny that even this so-called foolish tactic was enough to tempt a lot of people—especially orange-tier Legendary heroes.
Tempt them? Hell, it made them greedy. Desperate. Willing to throw themselves into the fire for a shot at it.
