Hobe's throat felt dry, as if he were swallowing a lump of solid rock, his anxiety mounting with each step they took.

As they made their way through the eastern gate, relief washed over them. The gate stood firm, its robust structure serving as a barrier between them and the ravenous undead outside.

Inside the fortress, a sense of foreboding settled over them as they spotted a small horde of zombies. The undead had caught wind of their presence and were now hot on their trail, their relentless pursuit driving the group deeper into the heart of the fortress.

"You guys can go. We'll handle this small group of zombies and then find our way," Jensen said, kicking Carlos to get down and face the five or six zombies approaching them.
