She was like the Phoenix burning brightly in his darkness and illuminating his entire being. He was a coward and his darkness threatened to swallow him.
 
 She was his only redemption. 


 "The Phoenix and the Dragon shall meet and they together shall wipe the darkness that surrounds this kingdom" the old priest told the Old King about the prophecy as he stared intently at the Queen who sat beside the King.
 Sonia was the illegitimate daughter of Count Raymond who was exiled to the countryside with her mother. When her mother dies, she is sent back to live with her father,the Count. There she happens to make an acquaintance with a mysterious man and becomes penpal with him. The second time she meets this man was when she escaped from her father's mansion after finding out the hidden motive for bringing her back. Sonia was happy to meet her penpal friend again and stayed with him. what will happen when that man's past catches up with him, will she stay and help him deal with his troubles? or will she go away?
 King Emric ran away from the prison called a palace. He runs to redwood village and meets his old acquaintance and together they set up a small business and were happy with there lives but trouble comes knocking on their door as his stepmother threatens his new found joy. will he back away cowardly? or will he challenge the Queen and battle her to death?

The king's Desire

 " Yeah, I am not surprised at all. I am one the most hated person in the kingdom. Sending snakes to kill me is a common occurrence to me . I am now immuned to more than half of the snake venom in this kingdom." he said" what a blessing in disguise" he added in the end as if in self depreciation.


  "c'mon, you must be joking, there had to be someone out there who likes you in the whole kingdom. Don't worry, you can take me as a friend"Sonia said to him.


  " well, if you take it that way, what's your story"


 " Well it seems that we have been plotted by our someone or that. Mine is my stepsister. I am really surprised where that enigmatic sister of mine got that snake from. if I remember correctly, my sister doesn't have the money or power to make the poison sect give her the snake. I really want to find out who is behind her and what their purpose is"


   Sonia felt comfortable around Steve and felt like he was a reliable person just on their first meeting. Sonia was never the kind of person to be comfortable around people easily, she decided there and then that Steve was a friend worth having.


     While they were conversing, Dr Palsy had entered the room to give them the first batch of pills which they will take for the next three days.


  " Hey guys give me a little scoop, will ya" said Dr Palsy who was pretending to sound like a young man despite his old age.


   "please stop, I have goosebumps all over my body, your aged and hoarse voice suit you better" Steve joked.


 Sonia chuckled at the sight of the playful banter between Dr Palsy and Steve.


 ' it was worth it to come here' she said in her mind


  " Dr Palsy, Steve and I were talking about how we got poisoned and landed in your clinic" Sonia told Dr Palsy about her conversation with Steve.


  " Steve, no not Steve, it's your_______


  " It's Steve, sir you have forgotten, Dr Palsy is really getting old"  Steve suddenly interrupted him when he saw that Dr Palsy was almost revealing his identity.


 Dr Palsy chuckled and said " Yeah I am getting old that is why I am looking for a successor, won't you agree to my request, sir Emric"


 Emric glared fiercely at the old man ' how could he slip my name, he must have done it as a revenge for mocking him earlier'
