The wolf

Nathanial

My son is being stubborn.

I wouldn't expect any less from my seed.

I am his father after all.

I am running out of time.

I need his blood; I need it fast.

"What did he say?" Evelyn asks me as I get out of the dream state. Evelyn is my right-hand woman. She is the one I will leave everything to if things go south with me. She is my most trusted ally.

Brandon isn't budging and I don't know how else I can do this.

"He's resistant," I admit with a frustrated sigh. "He clings to his newfound family and rejects everything I offer. I need his blood, Evelyn. It's the key to unlocking our true potential, and time is running out."

"You killed his mother; you can't expect him to be all chummy with you."

I roll my eyes.

"He's being difficult. He still believes he can defy me," I answer, my voice laced with frustration. "But I can't wait any longer. We need his blood to complete the ritual."
