"The book you see in my hand is called Formjgerf" (forms-grr-f).
Carwyn took a moment to comprehend the story and still found it hard to believe that Brian could have met with one of the Founding Fathers and found it hard to believe that he himself is a hero.
"W-wait, you can't just come out of nowhere and expect me to join you as if my life won't be in danger or - what about my parents, they'll worry".
"Hmm.." Brian said, ruffling his hands through his hair. He took a while to think of a solution to calm Carwyn down then proceed to persuade him.
"I understand your concern, I mean you are a schoolboy who has homework and a loving family. What else could you ask for"?
"Plenty of stuff, trust me". Carwyn replied.
"That's not the point. Carwyn, look around you, look at your life. Are you telling me that you're satisfied with only being a smart talented dude in a school full of bullies"?
Carwyn then recalled all of the horrible bullying he underwent in his godforsaken school. He then remembered that he wanted to be strong enough to protect kids who also struggle with bullying and abuse. The very reason that helped him to wake up from bed and march in the hell-tower he called school.
For his whole life he felt as though he was a dead wait, a lump of flesh with no will strong enough to live. But then he thought "maybe, just maybe, I can feel alive, feel as though my life can finally have a purpose. I don't need to dream about having friends or dream about leaving quickly enough out of Mom and Dad's way. I..I can do something?"
"A-are you saying that I can gain the strength to protect people and actually do something to move the world to better peace?"
Brian had a grin on his face, crossed his arms, and looked up looking at Carwyns face once more with a glistening light in his asparagus green eyes mixed with blended patches of graphite gray.
"Of course, how do you think hero's were formed? You didn't think that doctors walk in a hospital and start performing a surgery without training and practice, do ya"?
Carwyn smirked back and clenched his fist with eagerness and thrill, thinking of all the wonderful things he could do then said " Brian R. Backsmith…" taking a deep breath in " I accept your challenge".
The moment Carwyn accepted his challenge a new covenant was formed and the room turned dark and cold with dim green lights and noises you'll hear only in a forest during night. Then faint screams and whispers started to arise. Cold mist rises to knee level but you are still able to see your feet and vine start to wrap Brian's bed along with tables and chair legs Then behind Carwyn the hospitality wall started to open and the cracks were shaped as though the walls were made of bricks splitting open.
And beyond the crack was a blurred and glitched figure of an albino man with a long white robe with a silverish-gold rope tied around his waist just enough to not slip down. His eyes glowed radiating deep ultramarine blue light, yet the light was night shining through his eyes. It was just there. His hair was elvish, and his skin was saddle tan brown.
"It seems as though you gentlemans have come to a conclusion," said the man in robe, with a deep dark voice.
"We should quickly proceed with the training and brief explanation on your quest to stop the fate of humanity entering eternal damnation."
Carwyn looked in awe and stood there like a stone.
"Hey. Carwyn buddy" Brian said, finding his expression amusing and laughable.
"Y-yeah… do you need something?" Carwyn said, trying to catch a grip on himself.
Brian got up from the gatch bed and stripped from his hospital garments.
"HEY! I'm right here dude! Do you mind?" Carwyn said in shocking disgust.
"Oh relax, we're both men. If it bothers you so much, turn around." Brian brusquely implied.
"Would you kids not fight in the presence of a founding father and be more reverent?" The man said abruptly.
"Sorry sir, Carwyn here" Brian said with a gaze "isn't exactly pious."
Carwyn was shocked, "what's with this new profound attitude of yours!"
Brian said in annoyance "I tried to be chill with you but you make it unbelievably hard. Like seriously, is it so hard to act docile!"
The man rolled his eyes and looked as though he was a parent trying to break up a fight between toddlers.
"Alright. If none of you are going to stop, imma just go and deal with the paperwork on my desk." said the man.
"Hold on!" Both Carwyn and Brian cried.
"We're coming so you can start talking." Carwyn finished
"Very well." The man said, walking deeper in the tunnel.
"This is obviously a portal but there are three types of portals. Do you know them?"
Carwyn answered, "Yes. First there is the most commonly used one, to teleport to different parts of the continent but they all lead to a entrance where you must meet with an official and a guard to state your identification and reason for crossing. The second is a dimension portal that brings you to another world where the dominant race is not human or whatever race you are from. Which brings us to the third teleporter, capable of transporting materials and goods which can bring it to any continent, country, and universe making it limitless, but humans cannot enter in it. And from there the teleporter works as an airplane but it cannot bring you out of the earth atmosphere meaning that it is also limited. Unfortunately you cannot use any of the portals for a short distance so vehicles and ships do come in handy. Right?"
The albino man grinned, "Yes, that is correct but there are two more portals that are not well known and scarcely discussed."
Brian and Carwyn came close at each side of the man, curious Brian said "wait, how? No documents in the academy or archive have any info of any other portals."
Carwyn cut in saying, "How would you know that the archives wouldn't carry any info on this?"
"Because I used to work as an apprentice a while back until I got fired." Replied Brian.
The man continued, "As you know there is very little magic bygone to the time where Blessing had yet to create the universe with the magic we are known to today. So he spent his time creating gifts for them to find. These two special teleporters were one of them."
"So, you're tell us that Blessing hide the gifts from us like a game?"
"Not quite." The man corrected "He hid the gifts due to the way he created them, we only take a few parts of blessing and one of them is emotions, however unlike him we don't always react immediately to positive emotions as he doesn't with negatives."
Carwyn and Brian looked at the man with a confusing look on their face.
"For example, when Blessing created our world he felt happy and alive with a hint of curiosity on how he would want us to be entertained, and so we have water, animals like lions who (for a certain time) do not dare to have a single lick on a sheep, and gravity."
"Ohhhh~" the boys said in unison.
"When Blessing was making the gifts he was probably — no one knows for sure-" the man says while chuckles "feeling a little bit mischievous and power, there for the gifts are very disputant and are hidden in ways and places that none of his creations can ever think of. From the Milky Way to Andromeda, even here, the list of places that he could have possibly hide it are unimaginable. Not to mention the places that are still undiscovered. Hahaha."
"I thought that was a legend made up for children to hear?" Said Carwyn with his hands holding his head.
"We might as well call it quits! If none of the 7 Hero's of Glastoria have found out it, how can me and Carwyn do that impossible journey" said Brian with a loss of interest.
"Wait Brian, he's a founding father. The sir wouldn't had called us here if it weren't serious or maybe, you called us here to tell us a way we can find it?" Said Carwyn with hope.
"Well I am here saying they aren't a way to find it, youngling." Said the man.
"Wait, seriously." Carwyn said dumbfounded
"See. I told ya so." Brian said as he crossed his arms at the back of his head.
"Sorry Brian but you to are wrong." The man corrected
"Huh? What do you mean."
" I am here to tell you both that there is in fact a person whom have come in contact with a gift and is still trying to find a way to obtain it."
"How! Who! Where!"
"Would ya calm down! Let him speak." Said Carwyn
"You are not ready. And I wasn't born just yesterday so no, I won't tell you any information just yet. You guys don't even know about the portals I mentioned previously."
" sighs Alright. Can you tell us about the portals at least?" Said Brian with much great disappointment.
"As I was going to say; one is called space magic, where you not only have the use of infinite space to hold any object but you can also wield the ability to manipulate the properties of space which are gravity, oxygen, blackholes, astrod showers, and time. But it is highly impossible that you can control all of these" said the man.
"Even for a prodigy?" Brian suggested.
The man laughed and said, "Yes, even for a prodigy young one."
"Then why would Blessing make a gift so strong?"
"Well firstly, it's so you can choose what power you want and then keep dormant of the others and so that those who are greedy can die of over-consumption. Because in the end of the day just because you can have something, doesn't that you should. It's also why there's a word called could and a word called should: allowing and suggesting."
" Yeah, but who can let all that opportunity go?"
"Think Brian, just because someone got's the income to buy dinner doesn't mean they should buy out the whole store when more then half of the food they buy will expire. By doing so what have you accomplished? Food is for energy not status, if there ever come a day where having to by or do a necessity becomes a "I wish…" then truly the other side has become greedy."
" Damn… my bad."
Carwyn in great anticipation said "well go one, what's the second one?"
"The second one is the portal to Blessing. This portal is the most powerful one by far because the person who can find it and open it will have the ability to wish for any prize, even a wish to bring someone back to life."
Carwyn and Brian were flabbergasted and became even more thrilled to start their quest to find these mysterious gifts. They soon reached the end of the tunnel and saw grass land on the other side.
"Well this is where we bid our farewells my friends" said the wise old man.
"Where are we?" Asked Brian.
"This is your training site where you will meet a strong woman to be your mentor."
Brian butted in, "Umm.. before we go can we have the honor of knowing your name?"
The man smiled and said, "I thought you would never ask. The name is Favian Mendal."
At the very moment Carwyn and Brian stepped out of the tunnel. Then suddenly the whole existence and presents of Favian and the tunnel disappeared. Both Carwyn and Brian have entered to the Goglasseral (Go-glass-oriel) continent. In that continent resides an island called The Land of Sheba Quan which lost its' independence in war 300 years ago.
Since the boys traveled through a pathway with the power of a founding father who is known as on of the original welders of magic, they easily pass through the entry gateway.
And ahead of them is a small town called Tspoumpa (su-poom-pa). They must gather info about the place and understand exactly how strong this female mentor is including where to find her.
