It All Started With Love

By the time I woke up, it was already dark. Reaching for my hearing devices I wore them and turned to look at Ethan who was still sleeping beside me. Turning on my side, I stared at my sleeping husband. Even in his sleep, he wasn't fully relaxed, I could tell by his knitted eyebrows and how his arms were crossed against his chest.

I rarely see Ethan relaxed in his sleep but I did see him when he was. Bringing my hand towards his face, I messaged the area between his eyebrows gently until he relaxed and it was no longer knotted.

Then, I slowly uncrossed his arms, fully aware that he was half asleep. He always is. Gently, I run my hands through his hair, telling him to just relax and get some sleep. After a good ten minutes of massaging his scalp, he was finally fully asleep.
