"I'll come first!"
"I'll come first!"
"I'm the one who knocked her out!"
"I'm the one who distracted her!"
"I deserve the credit! Let me go first!"
"You fucking want to steal from me? Ask my fist first!"
"You fucking want to fight?"
"Let's fight then!"
The two burly men started brawling, exchanging punches with each other. Before long, their bodies were covered in bruises, and they continued to fight fiercely, refusing to admit defeat. As they fought, their eyes grew increasingly red with rage, completely oblivious to Emily, who was sitting on the ground, watching their performance with amusement.
Emily glanced down at her disheveled clothes, feeling somewhat annoyed. Fortunately, she hadn't been violated in any way. It seemed that these two men were fighting over her as their "prize." If they had been a bit more harmonious, Emily realized that her situation could have turned dangerous.
The more Emily thought about it, the more fearful she became. And the more fearful she became, the angrier she grew. The glint in her eyes turned icy, like a chilling sword, pointing directly at the two men tangled in their fight in front of her.
As the two men continued to exchange blows, they suddenly felt a chilling and eerie aura beside them. Despite maintaining their punching stances, they both turned their heads simultaneously, only to see Emily staring at them with piercing eyes. Her gaze was as terrifying as a demon from hell. Unconsciously, both men shivered in response.
"What's going on? Wasn't she supposed to be unconscious for a few hours?"
"Yeah, that's what the seller said!"
"Could it be a counterfeit we bought?"
"Let's not worry about that now. What do we do?"
"She saw what we look like!"
"After we're done playing, let's kill her!"
Upon hearing the word "kill," the other man swallowed nervously, his fingers trembling, and his legs feeling weak. Although his companion's proposal made him uneasy, when he looked back at Emily's gaze, he felt a sense of fear that went beyond unease. Why was a girl sitting there motionless and calm when she heard two men planning to kill her? It was terrifying.
Emily stood up, a faint ethereal smile playing at the corners of her mouth, filled with mockery. Her red lips parted, and her voice flowed like clear and refreshing stream water seeping through the cracks of rocks, clean and crisp, but carrying a chilling sense of intimidation. "Kill me?"
Emily moved gracefully, step by step, her eyes exuding a bewitching coldness. She approached them while the two grown men gulped down their saliva, feeling compelled to retreat in fear. They stared at her, frightened, as if their muscles had lost control, and only their instinct commanded their legs to run and escape.
The relatively thinner man turned and ran first, but in his panic, he didn't notice a sharp stone on the ground and stumbled, falling to the ground. The stone cut a deep gash on his leg, with flesh turned outward, gushing blood. Ignoring the injury, he quickly got up and continued running.
The man who had just mentioned killing her was now so terrified that he had lost the strength to run. He didn't know why he was afraid, but this fear seemed to come from the depths of his soul. Looking at her gaze, he felt his entire soul tremble. He even doubted if she was truly human. How could just her gaze evoke such a strong sense of fear and oppression?
Emily sneered at them. Those who had just arrogantly spoken about killing her were now scared out of their wits, unable to control their bodily functions.
The gentle breeze carried a cool air that brought a message to Emily. There were vampires nearby, and they were rapidly approaching. It seemed they were not underground but in the vicinity.
Emily frowned, looking at the bloodstains on the ground. Could it be the smell of blood that attracted them? Based on her initial judgment, there were at least four of them.
She quickly spread her wings and swiftly left the ground, landing on the nearest rooftop. She held her breath and looked down. As expected, within seconds of her arrival, four vampires came running, surrounding the two desperate men.
The two men were still in shock from seeing Emily's wings. They stood there, gaping and looking up at the direction she disappeared, completely unaware of the more dangerous presence.
In Emily's hands, they would, at most, receive a reprimand. But in the hands of the vampires, they would become prey on a chopping board. However, the two men were completely petrified. The four vampires, acting in unison, two facing each man, suddenly revealed their sharp fangs. The two men stared at them in terror, their eyes almost popping out. However, before they could let out a scream, their throats were seized, and before they could comprehend what was happening, they perished.
The air instantly filled with a heavy smell of blood. Emily frowned. Although these two men were not good people, she couldn't help but feel a slight trace of sympathy. It flashed by momentarily, and she quickly concealed herself on the rooftop because those four vampires might have sensed something and were looking in her direction.
After waiting for a while and nothing happened, Emily cautiously peered out. The bodies of the two men had disappeared, and the residential area had returned to its tranquility, as if the bloody scene had never occurred. Everything had returned to its original state, leaving only a few scattered bloodstains on the ground. If one didn't look carefully, they could easily be overlooked.
Emily soared higher, hovering over the new district for a while. She didn't catch the scent of the Bloodblades. The sky began to turn a pale gray, and only then did she flap her wings and fly towards the outskirts, heading to Benjamin's mansion.
Benjamin had already returned, and Yuri was the last to arrive. However, all three of them were somewhat frustrated. After a night of investigation, they found no trace whatsoever. These three locations were undoubtedly the gathering places of the Lusenba clan, but there was no scent of the Bloodblades.
"Why do we have to save that guy? Can't we just destroy the Lusenba's lair? That way, you'll have your revenge!" Yuri said impatiently. He was used to being free and appearing wherever he wanted. He had never had to hide and seek like a mouse. It was a great humiliation for him.
"Destroy the Lusenba clan?" Benjamin's tone was icy. "You think you're capable of that?"
After all, Benjamin was a member of the Lusenba clan himself. Apart from Alexander, he genuinely hoped that the Lusenba clan would thrive and grow stronger. When he heard Yuri's words, he couldn't help but feel deeply offended.
"I am capable of it! What about it!" Yuri arrogantly raised his chin.
"Stop arguing! Can't you two have a single moment of peace when you're together?!" Emily interrupted in annoyance. "Go and get some sleep! We'll continue searching tomorrow!"
