"What do you want to eat?" Despite his resentment, Alexander still asked, suppressing his anger. Humans shouldn't go hungry.
"Emily" curled her lips, somewhat mocking. Alexander had been decent to Emily.
"Braised pork!" "Emily" answered without hesitation. But as soon as Yuri thought about the torment he endured from the braised pork all night and half the day, he started to regret it. The thought of braised pork now made his stomach ache.
"Did you hear that? Go buy it!" Alexander instructed one of the nearby vampires. Before leaving, he glanced deeply at "Emily." "Emily" lazily half-lay on the makeshift bed, whistling and humming a tune, swaying her feet back and forth. It seemed she found it quite pleasant to be here.
Alexander sighed wryly and walked away. Wasn't this what humans often referred to as finding joy in hardship?
Half an hour later, a vampire brought the braised pork and placed it on the floor outside the cell.
"I don't want to go over there. Bring the food inside!" "Emily" lay on the bed, her hands folded behind her head, lazily saying.
"I don't have the key. You can come and get it yourself," the young vampire said, feeling uneasy. He didn't dare to yell at "Emily," as even someone with a bit of intelligence could see that Alexander had a special fondness for this girl. If they offended her, it was highly likely they would be out of luck.
"Well then, I won't eat it! If I starve to death, let's see how you explain it to Alexander!" "Emily" displayed excellent tantrum-throwing skills, looking nonchalant, making the young vampire think she didn't resemble a woman at all.
"Please wait, I'll go ask." The young vampire had no choice but to go and find Alexander.
Alexander happened to be dealing with the situation regarding the Bloodblade. Since being captured, the Bloodblade had been on a hunger strike. In reality, it wasn't that he chose not to eat, but rather that he was a vegetarian and only consumed animal blood. The living beings brought by Leisenba were meant for the Bloodblade to feed on, as his abilities would be enhanced. During the Feast of Crimson Moon, Leisenba could extract more energy from the Bloodblade.
Since being captured, the Bloodblade had not consumed a drop of blood and was now on the verge of death. In his current state, he was weaker than even a human hunter, let alone being able to provide more energy.
Alexander was feeling restless and preparing to check on the Bloodblade when the young vampire brought news about Emily. In a fit of anger, Alexander said, "If she doesn't want to eat, let her be! Just leave her there, no need to bother with her!"
Seeing Alexander's attitude, the young vampire cursed himself inwardly for overthinking earlier. He should have just left her alone; she would eventually get up to eat when she got hungry. Having just swallowed his pride, the young vampire was planning to reprimand her and regain some dignity later. But Alexander, who had already left, returned and handed the cell key to the young vampire. "Keep it safe. Bring the food to her and immediately lock the door after. Then take the key and return to your own room. Wait for me there."
After giving a few instructions, Alexander hastily left.
The young vampire held the key for a while, feeling a shiver down his spine. Fortunately, he had shown some respect towards "Emily" earlier!
Taking the key, the young vampire opened the door. With a smile of appeasement on his face, he approached the bed, holding the braised pork and rice. "Emily sister, please wake up and have your meal. I brought the food for you."
"Emily" didn't respond, lying motionless with her back turned towards him as if she were asleep.
The young vampire waited at the head of the bed for a moment. "Emily" remained unusually quiet. He placed the food down and gently pushed her shoulder. Still no response. He decided to turn her body over, but was immediately petrified, sitting paralyzed on the floor. The Emily on the bed stared with eyes bleeding from all seven orifices, mouth still wide open.
"Oh... this is bad!" The young vampire crawled backward, shouting as he retreated. Suddenly, a group of people rushed in and were startled by the sight of "Emily" on the bed.
"Quick, go and inform Young Master Tang!" someone shouted from the crowd.
The Elder should be the one ruling the Leisenba clan, but Alexander, despite his lower status, had taken control of Leisenba, earning him the title of Young Master Tang.
Someone hurriedly ran out to deliver the message, but before they could reach the exit, they suddenly felt the ground give way beneath them. The floor collapsed, and all the vampires fell down together. It was as if they had fallen into a bottomless pit, with no point of support to be found.
The younger vampires began to despair and wail, while the older ones wore anxious expressions, desperately trying to grasp onto something to halt their descent. But all they could grab was empty air.
"Emily" climbed off the bed, the bloodstains on his face disappearing, revealing Yuri's appearance. He looked at the vampires in the room, each with a fascinating expression, seemingly in a good mood. He calmly freed himself from the steel chains and walked out nonchalantly.
...
"Benjamin, did you see the Bloodblade when you were with Alexander?" Emily asked Benjamin, who was at home, planning how to rescue Yuri and the Bloodblade.
"No, I didn't see him. The Bloodblade is held somewhere else, not where I was."
"What should we do? We can't just rush in recklessly to rescue them," Emily exclaimed anxiously. Dawn was approaching, and they had spent most of the night cleaning the bloodstains on the villa's floor. The blood had seeped into the floor, invisible to the naked eye but still detectable by the nose. If the police mobilized sniffer dogs, they wouldn't be able to hide it.
They meticulously cleaned every gap in the floor, wasting a whole day. The Feast of the Crimson Moon was in two days.
Restlessly pacing in the living room, Emily walked back and forth while Benjamin sat on the sofa, watching her movements. She resembled a swinging pendulum, and it made him somewhat drowsy. He tried his best to keep his eyes open and focus on Emily.
"Are we really going to the blood sacrifice site to rescue them?" Emily muttered to herself. The more anxious she felt, the less clear her thinking became. In the end, she tripped over the coffee table and fell down.
Benjamin quickly reached out to catch her, holding her in his arms. The two of them found themselves in an extremely ambiguous position, locking eyes. Benjamin's gaze became hazy, veiled by a thin mist, as their lips slowly drew closer.
Emily's mind was momentarily short-circuited, blinking as she watched Benjamin getting closer and closer. It took her a moment to realize what he was about to do. Just as she was about to push him away, a force grabbed her arm and pulled her away. Emily fell into another embrace.
"You little brat, how ungrateful! Taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable state!" Yuri spoke with slight anger, tightly holding onto Emily and glaring at Benjamin. Deep inside, his anger was enough to create a hurricane, but he restrained himself, not wanting Emily to witness his furious state.
Benjamin felt somewhat guilty. Regardless of Yuri's intentions, after all, it was he who had swapped places with himself. It felt awful to owe someone, especially when it came to a romantic rival!
"Yuri! How did you come back?" Emily, now recognizing Yuri's face, confirmed that she wasn't mistaken and shouted with joy.
