33: Vampire Encounter

Their day easily comes and goes as if nothing happened at the main hotel of the Marques. ICE was doing her usual routine as a personal bodyguard of her lady. The CEO of DEMar Hotel whenever she could and lastly, as the deadly huntress at night that was on call for duty. But something was left inside Sabrina's mind whenever ICE wasn't beside her. She kept recalling the secret that her lover was hiding from her.

"I wonder what Caine was hiding from me." Sabrina wondered as she sighed heavily on her chair at her office at the hotel.

She was all by herself in her office after ICE left her there for the time being since she had to check the DEMar Hotel before going back to her side. Sabrina was busy with work but the secret of her lover haunts her like a plague.

"What have you done to me now, Caine?" Sabrina muttered to herself wondering what impression ICE's secrets left on her head. She really wanted to check things and learn about it but ICE, herself was not letting it out.

Another sigh escaped from Sabrina's mouth when ICE came inside her office after a knock. She just glanced at her but didn't say anything. She just focused on her work and let the silence engulf the office. ICE could sense that Sabrina was bothered but didn't entertain much of it and yet, it was causing her to sigh.

"Sab, here's the file you asked." ICE just said but Sabrina nodded.

"Just put it on there." Sabrina just said and ICE was about to say something when Sabrina's phone rang. She sighed but picked the call up.

"Speaking." She answered and her secretary spoke to her.

'Ma'am, your meeting at five just arrived. Do you want to reschedule the meeting now since it was your free time?'

"Hm, alright. Just hold if something suddenly comes and prepare the seminar meeting room one for me." Sabrina checked her files before answering.

'Yes, Ma'am.'

When she hung up the call, she prepared her things for a client meeting before heading out. ICE just tailed her lady boss on her way to her meeting and stood on the side like she always does whenever a client meets Sabrina.

The meeting lasted for three hours because they were discussing the expansion of one of the Marques's small hotels in the area. Sabrina was tired but she had to keep her facade and do her work diligently when her secretary updated her with her schedule for the rest of the day.

"Busy day." ICE broke the building ice blocks between them while they were heading to their car due to her last meeting for the day.

"Indeed it does." Sabrina answered coldly as she entered the car that ICE opened for her.

"I'll escort you through." ICE said assuringly and went into the driver's seat.

"Thanks then." Sabrina just answered and let ICE drive their car to their destination.

In the middle of the road, there was some traffic jamming their way causing Sabrina to click her tongue in annoyance. ICE noticed it and decided to take some new routes just to let her boss meet her call time. Without missing any beat, they made it five minutes before the meeting at the construction venue.

"Hm, something was off." ICE suddenly muttered to herself as soon as they stepped inside the construction site which was still bare and dusty.

Sabrina heard it but she did not comment. She knew that it had something to do with her secret about how ICE could feel something strange around the area when it was just her first time visiting it. She waved it off and focused on her meeting until it was done where she could finally relax but not ICE.

"Sab, don't leave my side." ICE was totally controlling her building up anger when she began to smell something that shouldn't be around private property.

She was about to say something when Sabrina flinched because of the sudden flickering of lights as they walked on the empty and dusty hallway. It was just getting dark and the air around them suddenly became erie. Sabrina began to hold ICE's wrist because she did not like what she was feeling.

"Let's get you out of here." ICE tried to smile to ease Sabrina's building fear. She just nodded and holding hands, they walked out of the hall. But not very long before ICE quickly carried Sabrina into her arms and then ran.

Sabrina gasped because the way ICE ran was not human at all. She could tell the difference because she was a fast runner but not too fast like a bullet train. She just held tightly on ICE hold until they stopped somewhere in the woods where the sunset barely hit the earthly ground.

"Caine..." Sabrina muttered when she let the stand on her own footing.

"Shh...I won't let them harm you..." ICE smiled but it was not reaching her eyes causing Sabrina to notice how it was different. It was glowing blue eyes yet it was shifting into something bloody and dangerous.

"Your eyes..." she just said and ICE stopped her hands that were about to touch her face.

"I know and this is my monster side." ICE coldly said and it was making Sabrina flinch because there were sudden broken twigs that echoed in the silence of the woods. It made ICE quickly remove her coat to cover Sabrina's human scent.

"Don't remove my coat it will keep you safe." ICE firmly said as she was trying not to lose her control because anger was already rising in her body.

"Where are you going?" Sabrina held her hand tightly. ICE smiled lovingly at her.

"Kill. I'm going to kill you before I can hurt you." ICE said before she placed a lingering kiss on her forehead before vanishing in front of her.

Sabrina was surprised and worried about what her lover might do. She took a peek around but there was nobody. She could not see any trace of ICE and decided to look for a way out of the woods. She was just carefully walking until another wave of erie feeling made her body shiver again.

"Just keep going." She whispered to herself and went on walking but to her dismay, I smirked mad appeared in front of her.

"Where you think you're going, lady?" he was smirking sinisterly and began approaching her.

Sabrina did not say anything and just stepped backward since she knew that the man in front of her was not human at all. it was like ICE's but it was not holding any affection and care in them. The man's red eyes were holding sinister, lust and blood.

"You smell funny, lady...you're human but there's a vampire scent around you...but..." the man said and it was making Sabrina wonder who the vampire that she's been hanging out to be cloaked by it.

"...but not claimed." She was thinking when she recalled what ICE told her about her coat when the man added something. It caught her attention.

"Claimed?" I wondered curiously and the man chuckled.

"Whoever is that vampire, he should at least have a taste of you so no one will take it away from his side." he answered as he kept moving forward and Sabrina suddenly stopped from moving backward.

There was something in his words click a wrong button inside of her. It pissed Sabrina and the man looked at her confused but decided to ignore it and just lick his lips. He went closer but when he did, he was surprised when a knuckle landed straight in his face. Sabrina gave him a nice surprising blow making him stumble a little.

"Thank you very much for reminding me of how desperate I am for her touch!" Sabrina growled in anger causing the vampire man to flinch because her aura shifted.

"What are you?" the vampire man suddenly wondered because no human could make any vampire stumble and make their knees quiver in weakness.

Sabrina did not answer but she quickly moved and used every combat skill that she knew to make the vampire man caught off guard and beaten up. She kept punching the vampire man without stopping as she made sure that every blow was counted and landed where she desired.

"Sab, I finally..." ICE suddenly came out of the blue to inform her lover that she managed to get rid of the nasty vampires who were after them but she was more surprised by the view.

"I'VE BEEN WANTING FOR HER TO TOUCH ME BUT SHE WAS BEING A PUSSY!" Sabrina was angrily punching the vampire with her powerful punches so that ICE could recall how heavy they were. they've been training together to protect themselves whenever bodyguards weren't around.

"She's obviously mad." ICE told herself while watching how Sabrina loses her cool and violently punches a vampire.

"SHE DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF MY DESIRE THAT TEN YEARS HAVE BEEN BUILT UP!" Sabrina totally did not plan on making the vampire man counter even for a second. She just beat it up causing ICE to look away.

"Poor nomad vampire...he messed with the wrong lady..." ICE thought while looking pity on the vampire man that Sabrina had been beating up.

"I DESPERATELY WANT HER! I NEED HER! I LOVE HER!..." Sabrina cried catching ICE's attention. ICE sighed and went to her side before pulling her into her arms.

"Who's the monster between you and me?" ICE teased because Sabrina just knocked out a vampire while she was just a human.

"Shut up!" Sabrina hits ICE's arms but still snuggles herself into her arms. It was calming her.

"Well, who would have a single thought that a human heir and my lady's beloved mate was a huntress." Lexie's voice irked Sabrina's ears and looked at ICE's back.

"Lexie?" she mumbled. Lexie smiled and nodded.

"Yes, I am like your girlfriend here. So, if you excuse me, I will take him to the mansion for interrogation." Lexie pointed ICE before she picked up the unconscious vampire into her shoulder like it was nothing then vanished.

"So, is it true that you want me desperately? that you need me so much?" ICE teasingly asked causing Sabrina to pinch her side.

"It's more than words so, don't force me to explain it to you." Sabrina just flatly answered and ICE smiled.

"Don't worry, babe. I am too and come with me, I'll show you something from my past." ICE kissed her temple before carrying her once again into her arms then dashed off somewhere deeply in the woods.
