Jingyi was happy that he got to eat his food cravings for breakfast. Hong'yu and the others were not used to this kind of diet for a morning meal, but they needed to get on the good side of Jingyi if they wanted to be friends with his precious little brother.
"Hey, Jianyu, where are my pork buns? Don't tell me you ate it all by yourself." Jingyi warned him with a stern look.
"No thanks. I'm already full. Besides, I sneaked out the extra buns for you." Jianyu handed the bag of buns to Jingyi, who kept nagging at them while walking towards Hyunhei's confinement room.
"Yi-gege, you might wake up those still resting if you keep your loud voice echoing around here." Hong'yu butted in while munching on his pork buns.
Jingyi was about to open the doors, but he noticed they were already open. "I somehow recalled locking this before I left. I wonder what's going on." He was staggered by the scene inside the room: a white-haired man with cat ears and tails cuddling with Hyunhei, purring and enjoying himself. His pork buns fell off the floor, and he can't even think straight now. Everyone except for Yanlin, who is innocent about these things, reacted similarly to Jingyi. Jianyu covered Yanlin's eyes with his sleeve while Hong'yu choked on the pork bun he had chewed off moments ago. They were supposed to be overjoyed to see that Hyunhei was awake, but things turned out unexpectedly.
"This is shameless!" Jingyi shouted as he ignored his pork buns on the floor. Hyunhei was alarmed, but Shandian couldn't care less about them.
"Yi-gege, I-I can explain—"
"Who is this? Get off my brother at once!" Shandian struck lightning at Jingyi as a warning not to get close.
"Don't come closer!" Shandian hissed at them. Hyunhei can't help but let out a sigh and facepalm.
"Hush now, my little one. Guys, let me explain." Hyunhei explained everything to them.
"He's Shandian? Really?" Jingyi cried out in disbelief.
"Absolutely. He is indeed my beloved four-tailed cat. Look at the seal on his forehead." The Blue Moon Seal was on Shandian's forehead and Hyunhei's hand. They still can't believe what happened.
"Oh, right. Master, I have something to give you." Shandian sat on top of Hyunhei, which made Jingyi and the others furious, and he began concentrating his energy on his abdomen. After gathering sufficient energy, a sword emerged from the mini-portal created by the concentrated power. The sword is forged out of well-refined tungsten, a type of metal only known to modern times, yet was formed with the rare minerals that can only be found at the deepest part of Mt. Haoyu, the most ancient mountain on the continent. It emits a splendid amount of lightning bolts that illuminate the room. Its hilt is whiter than snow but sturdy enough to contain the immense power flowing out of the sword's core, Shandian's condensed spiritual essence.
"That's a beautiful sword, Shandian," Hyunhei spouted in awe.
"Master, this sword and I are one. It has my condensed spiritual essence and will act as a medium for your limitless power." Shandian elaborated on every detail of the sword to Hyunhei and the others while he was having fun sitting at the top of his master. He also told his master how to summon and hide the sword so he wouldn't be troubled by carrying it with him occasionally. "I feel exhausted from doing all of this." Shandian yawned and returned to his feline form. He informed his master that he would rest within the sword for a while, so he turned into a whisp of light and merged with the sword's core. Their audience was speechless about the incident, so Hyunhei broke the silence.
"Uhm..." Hyunhei was about to speak, but Jingyi rushed to him and forcefully checked his body for something. "Hey! What are you doing? Are you trying to undress me in front of these men?" Jingyi let out a deep sigh of relief.
"I'm glad he didn't do anything to you."
"What would my sword spirit do to me? Don't tell me you're thinking of something dirty!" Hyunhei shouted annoyingly with a smug face.
"You looked like a couple fighting over something trivial. What an odd sight," Hong'yu added.
"Huh?! That's gross! If you can continue saying such lousy words, you might want to step out of here, will you?" Jingyi rebutted.
"All of you, leave my room at once!" Hyunhei commanded them. They wanted to reason out but stopped because he gave them a deadly glare. They have no choice but to obey him. The door was closed, but he could still hear them arguing outside.
Hyunhei studied the sword. The name Shandian was engraved on the blade near the hilt. The sword is as beautiful as Shandian himself. He smiled contently and hid the sword using the method Shandian had taught him moments ago. Now that he has a weapon, the next step will be to enhance his swordsmanship and fighting skills. He remembered being unconscious for a day, so he went to the kitchen to finish breakfast and proceeded to the announcement board. From there, he learned about the elemental classes and saw his uncle.
"Shushu, I want to be your disciple." Sect Leader Huo was caring for the sect's affairs when his nephew popped out of nowhere.
"Hyun-er, do you want your pretty uncle to die from a heart attack? You're like a mushroom that blooms out of thin air."
"Pardon my behavior, Shushu." Hyunhei apologized. "But would you allow me to master the Art of Light?"
"You'll suffer greatly if you're going to choose this path. The training will be strict, and you must seclude yourself from worldly affairs."
"I know. That's why I'm here to prove my worth as your second disciple." Hyunhei summoned the Shandian sword and gracefully swung it to show its beauty and power.
"I-Is that the Nameless Sword that was lost in ancient times?"
"I don't know. But I'm sure it's the sword that my beloved Shandian gave me." Hyunhei explained the details Shandian elaborated on last time to his uncle. Sect Leader Huo was reminded of something and searched for something on his bookshelf. He got an old book and navigated the pages until he found what he wanted to show his nephew. It was a detailed illustration of the Nameless Sword, which looks exactly like his Shandian.
"I did not expect these changes of events. That little rascal was the spirit guarding the Nameless Sword! No one has ever laid his hand on that sword since the fall of the Great Immortals for thousands of years. You are really fortunate to be the new master of that legendary weapon! I'm so proud of you, my dear Hyun-er!" The delighted Sect Leader Huo hugged his nephew like a cat cuddling with its owner. "I shall grant your wish to be my disciple! Your senior awaits your arrival. Make the necessary preparations and start moving!"
Out of excitement, Hyunhei returned to their room to prepare for another journey. He bypassed his brother and the others to avoid bothering them. He cleaned the room and left a letter for his elder brother. Sect Leader Huo gave him a map to guide him toward the training area. It was far from the main grounds, so he returned to the kitchen to pack some food to bring along.
Meanwhile, the other students lined up in their respective classes to list their names on the classes they desired to join. Yanlin wrote his name on the Earth Elemental Class list, while Jingyi, Jianyu, and Hong'yu are still undecided on what class they will join. Jingyi saw his uncle supervising the enlistment and approached him with a gloomy aura, leaving the other two behind.
"Shushu," Jingyi whispered to his uncle, "Hyun-Hyun is so mean. He kicked us out of his confinement room without even thanking us. He's so unpredictable, and I feel bothered."
"Jing-er, you should return to your room if you're still undecided about your class. The path of cultivation is an important matter, so you should think carefully about it."
Despite the cold war between them, Jingyi returned to their room with Hong'yu and Jianyu. He was about to sit in bed when he noticed a folded paper beside his pillow. He opened it and read its contents. His expression changed instantly, and he immediately ran back to his uncle. Jianyu and Hong'yu had no idea what was going on, so they read the letter and had the same reaction as Jingyi. They begged Sect Leader Huo to join the Light Elemental Class but failed after several attempts. Hyunhei specifically asked his uncle not to let them go with him so he could focus on his training. They went back disheartened and were forced to enlist in their second choice.
