Winter's Grace

I searched the world for love so true,

Through endless nights and mornings new.

In crowded streets, in quiet lands,

I sought the touch of tender hands.

But love eluded every call,

A shadowed dream behind a wall.

In every face, in every smile,

I yearned for what was lost in miles.

The days grew long, my heart grew tired,

The hope within had near expired.

I paused my search, let go the fight,

And drifted in the endless night.

Yet winter came, with crystal breath,

The world asleep, as still as death.

I wandered down to a frozen shore,

Where city lights danced evermore.

And there, beneath the icy veil,

Where cold winds sang their lonely tale,

I found a warmth that stilled the storm,

A heart that took my hand, so warm.

By the lake, in winter's grace,

I saw my soul reflected in your face.

The search was done, the journey through,

For in that moment, I found you.

My soulmate and my healing light,

In winter's grasp, on that cold night.

Unplanned, unsearched, but meant to be,

Love found me when I set it free.
