A True Opportunity

The next morning, Ron and Kai's bodies were exhausted from the fight the day before. They still had the scratches, bruises, and a few broken bones from the battle. They were just chilling when Kai said "Hey, remember when life was more boring? Like, the simple times?" "Yeah." "Well I think that those times were over two days ago. We were literally just taking a walk in the park when you found the glove. And then we meet this trainer guy and he sees what we can do. Now we have to go there five times per week. Not to mention that the place was on a mountain more than five-hundred feet tall! Then, we do some stuff we didn't even know that we could do, and-" "Shhhhh.." Ron said, silencing Kai from his rambling. "Let's just embrace the fact that life is what it is. We may have way way way more responsibility than before, but that doesn't mean that we should wish we were in the past. That was then, this is now bro. We should just accept our responsibility and go with it." "I suppose you're right" Kai responded.

They went to their trainers location before speaking to him. "Instead of me seeing what you can do, why don't you just update me on your skills. Have you been training? Are you proud of your work and the time that you've put in? Or do you feel as though this is too much on your plate" their master asked. "We were just talking about that back at home, about how Kai was thinking about the past. He was reminiscing on the old times." Ron said. "Yes, that is common. At least for me. When I first was entitled with the first of my many titles for the war, I missed the simpler days when I was able to live carefree. But then I had accepted the truth and accepted the present, and look at me now, forming you two." Klint, their trainer, had said. "But you two aren't in a war. You can be looked up on as heroes. I see true potential in you two. I stopped being known a bit over 80 years after it. But you can both be known as makers of history. With the right training, strong enough power, and a good heart, I truly believe that your newfound responsibility can really be for the better." "Sheesh, this guy was in the war, and that was thousands of years ago.. How old is he?" Ron had thought to himself. "Well, thanks for the uplifting talk, but we're here to train" Kai said. "This IS training, just in a different form. You see, to be a true hero, one must be both physically and mentally powerful. You must know yourself before any other. So, tell me….. about life! How have the past few days went? Anything you're feeling?" Klint asked them.

After a few hours of talking, they waved at Klint as he waved back. They went down the mountain and went out to eat some burgers. "You know, Klint is actually pretty kind" Ron said. "He actually wanted to know about us, and he's, thankfully, not some careless guy who just wants to feel good about himself by training others. That'd suck." "Agreed" said Kai. "I'm pretty sure this guy can heal himself or alter his lifespan in some way, somehow. That war was thousands of years ago, and he said he was pretty young at the time. But that war was thousands of years ago. There's gotta be some sort of power behind it all or something." Ron said. "Well, who knows? He could be an alien and his people age slower than us. Or he could have some sorta trick behind it, like a power, as you said. But who knows? Not me, that's for sure." Kai said. A mysterious figure in a black suit suddenly threw off their jacket and started to shoot lasers out of her eyes, and went invisible before a car suddenly floated and got flung. Everyone in the neighborhood were screaming and running around like escape sheep. Ron and Kai looked at each other and nodded before Ron put on his glove and Kai put on his helmet. Klint gave Kai a sack that could hold almost anything and shrink down to the size of a block eraser, and he gave Ron a belt that had straps that could stretch enough to hold almost anything, similar to Kai's sack. So they got their gear from there before Ron came out of the restaurant door and said "Hey, you! Stop what you're doing or else!"
