Steal Your Heart

"So, this is your place..." Dante murmured, his eyes sweeping across the living room. Evangeline couldn't shake the odd sensation that he was quietly assessing and judging her home.

'I put in a lot of effort cleaning yesterday,' she thought frantically. 'There shouldn't be any sign of a mess anywhere.'

"There's the kitchen," Evangeline motioned for him to follow her there, her voice flat even though her mind was in shambles. "Can you please put it on the counter?"

He nodded and followed her inside, obediently placing the paper bags on the kitchen counter, just as she instructed. While doing so, he couldn't help but glance around the place with genuine curiosity.

"Heh," Dante smirked. "Nice."

It's so hard to read him sometimes.

"You aren't planning to steal anything from my place, are you?" Evangeline asked teasingly.
