Chapter 14

Dean arrived at the cemetery not long after.

He practically jumped out of his car and stumbled as he did. He jogged across the cemetery to where Camille and her grandmother had been buried.

An empty space...

The two grey headstones which had once been there were gone. A wide green rectangle was all that was there...

Dean dropped to his knees, panting heavily.

Camille is alive. She's alive.

But this is impossible.

What confused him more was that his mom seemed to have no idea who she was.

Dean groaned, ~I don't understand ~

He trudged back to his car and drove home dazed.

It was a Tuesday and today they hadn't had school. Dean was glad because it would have added to the disorientation he felt.

After what had felt like an extremely long day, Dean collapsed into his bed, feeling out of place.

....

The next day Dean shifted out of his sleep. At once everythimg hit him again. He squeezed his eyes shut hoping that once he opened them he'd be back at his dorm. He prayed and hoped he'd be back in New Hampshire.

But he wished for too much...

When he opened his eyes he saw his same childhood bedroom ceiling.

Shit

This was real. He was really back in 2022...
