The date

She unboxed it and saw the letter first so she looked at me and then she opened to see what was written in it. She was blushing so hard.

"We are meant to be together, aren't we?" I said.

She smiled and hid her face with that letter.

"Then see you tomorrow in the valley, make sure to wear that dress." I added and left her in surprise.

That day Kate left the house since she stayed with me for a long time.

I was looking out of the window when I saw her leaving, she waved at me while smiling.

I was too stressed so I messaged if we could meet. He welcomed me and we talked about Kate.

"Dad, I want to announce something that is very important for me."I said, trying to get in his vibes.

He nodded and said "Alright, I'm listening. Go ahead!"

"So actually I asked a girl to go on a date with me." I said while smiling.

"Oh really?" Dad asked happily.

"Mhm, she's called Kate." I answered.

"Do you have any picture of her?" Dad asked curiously.

"Nope, not really…" I replied.

"But-" I said while showing him the drawing.

"Did you draw that? It looks perfect!" Dad commented.

"Yeah, but you don't get it. That's Kate!" I said while giggling.

"Oh my god! Did you draw your girlfriend? That's cute!" Dad said while holding the paper and looking at it.

"She's still my crush for now!" I said and we both laughed.

"Mom didn't like her.." I said while looking into his eyes.

"I'm sure your mom didn't like her since she thought that falling in love is a waste of time. I don't blame her!" Dad said and I agreed.

"How did you meet Kate?" He asked.

"Uhm, w- w- we met uhm in the mall, yes in the mall. She used to work in one of the shops." I said.

"Cool!" Dad commented.

"I'm going to leave now, it's late." I said.

"No you are not! This is your house." He replied.

"Allie show Noah his room" Dad added.

I entered that room and tried to sleep but I couldn't.

I sighed and mumbled "I can't fall asleep!"

I wanted to discover the room so I opened one of the drawers when I saw a medicine mom used to force me to take. So I recognized that dad actually used to take from it too.

"Well he also has anger issues, I get it" I commented.

I heard footsteps so I hurried to put it in its place and act like I was asleep.

The next day I woke up late.

"OH SHIT!" I said as I put on my slippers and ran to the dining room.

"Good morning Noah!" Dad said.

"I'm sorry, I was late to breakfast." I said.

"You're silly, sit and have your breakfast kiddo!" Dad said ridiculously.

We were eating when dad said "So it's your day, right?" as he winked.

"Yeah, finally!" I replied.

"By the way, the driver is free anytime." Dad said.

"No dad!" I said desperately.

"Am I going to take the driver with me on my first date?" I added ridiculously.

"Haha! I was kidding, chill out!" Dad answered.

"Did you buy Kate anything?" He asked.

"Yeah, a dress." I answered.

"It probably costs an arm and a leg, right?" Dad asked while wiping his mouth.

"She deserves more though." I answered.

Dad looked at me and said "Then go get ready, you can eat later!"

"Yeah yeah true!" I said and hurried to take a bath and get ready.

"Noah Arthur." I said while looking at myself in the mirror.

"You got this!" I said as I winked and left the room.

"Handsome!" Dad commented.

"I know." I answered.

"You got Amantha's attitude." He replied.

"Come on dad, I'm already late. See you later!" I waved at him and left the house.

I was about to get in the car when I saw that guard that he was too mean to me that day.

"Noah Arthur, keep this in your mind!" I said as I also waved at him.

"Si-" He said but I ignored him.

I drove to the valley. Kate wasn't there so I waited for her. I had an idea to collect flowers for her since I was waiting for her.

Minutes later I saw that petite girl with caramel long wavy hair wearing that long white off shoulders dress. She was too far from me but I can still see her smile, she was also wearing a flower crown.

"Did she make her flower crown on the way to the valley?" I mumbled while smiling.

It was the best view I've ever seen. Seconds have passed and I realized that I should go for her.

I was wondering why she was that far.

I'm walking but I can't reach her, so I walked faster and faster but I also failed. I ended up running towards her until I could finally see that I'm about to reach for her.

She looked prettier from closer. Seeing my reflection in her eyes. I started walking slowly towards her but Kate was turning into pieces.

"Wait what?" I said and ran toward her but those pieces flew away.

"KATE!" I called her multiple times but no one was there.

I started running but I actually didn't know the place I was running to. I felt like a lost child.

"No no this can't be true" I mumbled.

There were kids in the valley so I asked them while tears were running out of my eyes "H- h- have you seen a girl wearing a dress?"

They started laughing so I continued running since I have no time for this.

Five hours have passed and I'm still looking for Kate. I went to that building hoping she will come and say "It's ok, I'm here!" like every time she used to comfort me.

Every corner reminded me of her. Lots of good memories are hurting me right now.

I sat on the edge of the roof and said hopelessly "I don't understand this, please come and tell me that it's not the end."

That evening the sun went away as I left with it. Yes I welcomed death with open arms. Not going to lie, it was painful but less painful than realizing that Kate was an entity my mind has created.

She wasn't there from the beginning. I was all alone with the cop that day. The servant was right, nobody came to visit us. Does that mean I was mentally sick?

The reason which kept me alive killed me in the end…

The end
