No Turning Back...

Morning arrived and as Reagan opened her eyes, awoken by the lightray and gentle brise, sitting up she looked around, she frowned as by her side she found no one.

Laying down she exhaled saying: " could all of it been a dream?"

Closing her eyes, she had flash-backs of yesterday night, taking a deep breath she felt her body getting hot and her groin stiffen, at that moment, it hit her. She had slept with Annabella De La Croix and she said she loved her. There was HOPE.

The bell chimed, signaling the start of the lunch break. Reagan sprang up, threw on her clothes at lightning speed, and dashed off to her room. As she made her way to her room, she observed the gardens were well-kept. The area, vibrant and cheerful just the day before, now seemed dreary and uninviting. Just before entering the corridor leading to her room, she caught sight of one of Harry's followers peering into her room. Concerned, she took a detour and slipped into Issey's room through the window.

Reagan found Issey passed out on the floor surrounded by ladies' toiletries, which seemed to suggest that Issey had been up to something the night before. She was half-naked and covered in what looked like lipstick. Reagan smirked and nudged her to get her attention.

Issey opened her eyes to find Reagan staring and quickly tried to compose herself. She stammered, "Hey Boss! This isn't what you're thinking... I was just... um, lending a hand to a friend! She needed a spot to crash."

Reagan laughed loudly: " I am sure she crashed alright on your dick"

Issey's cheeks turned a deeper shade of red as she stammered out her next question, "Is there any way I can assist?"

Reagan sat on the bed and said, "Harry's goon is tailing me. I'm going to need you to retrieve my clothes from my room."

Issey was all set to sprint out and confront the danger head-on, but Reagan halted her with a chuckle, "Hold your horses, tiger! You've got to take a bath and freshen up first. We can't have you turning heads for the wrong reasons. Understand?!"

Issey nodded and rushed to the bathroom. Reagan scratched her ginger head and thought to herself: " Damn !! The artifact is losing its strength I can sense its power fade! That is gonna be a close call!"

As Reagan roamed around Issey's room, her movement halted abruptly when she caught her reflection in the mirror, her eyes returning to their natural white irises and dark pupils. Panic set in as she heard Issey burst out of the bathroom, fully dressed, and dash from the room without a second glance at Reagan, who stood anxiously by the window.

A sigh of relief passed her lips. Gazing once more at her reflection, she widened her eyes, observing strands of white hair scattered across her head. She was uncertain if Issey had noticed them.

Reagan stepped into the bathroom and turned on the shower, finding solace in the chill of the water as it helped to calm her thoughts. With so much going on, it was crucial for her to remain composed. She thought to herself:" WTF is going on with me!! Am I losing control of power of light!! The old man is not gonna like it!!! Fuck!"

The knock from Issey jolted Reagan back to reality. She hurried to the door, opening it just enough to take the clothes and the box of artifacts Issey had brought. After swapping the old artifacts for the new ones, her eyes returned to their normal red, and her white hair seemed to vanish, though a few strands remained visible. With a sigh, she whispered, "This will have to suffice for the moment. I need to inform the grandparents immediately."

Dressed in her uniform, Reagan stepped out to find Issey there, the picture of patience. The room, once a chaotic mess, was now pristine. Yet, Issey looked unnerved. "Speak at once," Reagan urged.

Issey stood up and declared, "I would like to apologize for the indignity of my behavior."

Reagan chuckled and remarked, "You honor me too greatly, Issey. My social rank is way lower than yours, yet you treat me as if I were your superior."

Issey knelt and interjected, "There is nothing equal about us. Your strength and majesty draw me to you. Yet, it is your kindness and sense of honor that led me to choose you as my lord and commander. I have dishonored you, and I hope you will forgive your humble servant."

With a gesture, Reagan beckoned Issey to stand and, patting her shoulder, said, "Aaah, live a little! No harm done. I truly appreciate your words and I hope to live up to your trust. Your friendship means more to me than any title." Reagan smiled, relieved that her secret remained safe.

As Reagan and Issey made their way to the garden to meet the rest of the crew, Issey thought to herself, "I always knew Reagan was different. Today has confirmed it. Those white irises can only mean one thing. She's more powerful than she's been letting on, and now it all makes sense. But the white hair—what's that about? I've got to keep her safe now more than ever."

Issey was jolted from her reverie by Reagan's voice declaring, "There they are."

Reagan, with a mischievous grin, approached the crew, still reeling from their hangovers, and hurled a fireball that burst like fireworks on the table. The explosion sent Raizel and Kaizel tumbling to the ground and prompted Killian to swear as his water cup slipped from his grasp. Reagan and Issey burst into laughter, growing louder as the notoriously stoic duo, once seen as forces of nature, struggled to get up. Killian, rolling his eyes, returned to basking in the sun, muttering, "I'm not paid enough for this." Eventually, Issey lent a hand, helping them to their feet and brushing them off.

Reagan took a seat beside Killian, who cast a curious glance at her and asked, "So... how did it go?"

With a smile, Rea closed her eyes and took a deep breath before responding, "I will be eternally grateful to you, Kil."

Killian replied patting rea on the shoulder:" My baby has finally grown!"

Rea bumped her shoulder with his and said:" don't get too cocky! We got bigger fish to fry. Today I was tailed by Harries' goon. I hoped you would know something about it."

Killian sighed and said:" I hoped I could spare you a little longer but i guess you are better off knowing."

Reagan stiffened and said:" Knowing what?"

Killian handed Reagan a letter and said:" Do NOT overreact please!"

Reagan had barely finished reading the letter that she stood up and made her way to Annabella's class. Killian and the other managed to drag her to the rooftop.

Reagan yelled:" Let me pass guys!! You don't wanna mess with me like that now."

An exhausted Killian pleaded, "Rea... please... listen... Annabella is right! You need to keep it in the low-low! This morning, Harry and Arthur were frantically searching for her. We barely managed to sneak her into her room before they got there. I... think... this time, even Arthur suspected some foul play."

Clutching the letter, Reagan growled, "Wh...what should I do? Ugh! She's asking me to keep my distance until after the final year examination. "

Killian shrugs and remarks, "Pretty reasonable request!"

Rea interjects, " We can still be together and manage to fly under the radars. We don't need to put a pause to this."

Kaizel and Raizel said at the same time:"she has got a point there Killian!!"

Killian snapped at them, "Not without jeopardizing all our lives! Not to mention the constant hustle! Harry is already on each of our tails."

Reagan slumped on the bench, dejected. She sighed and whimpered like a wounded animal, lamenting, "There it goes again! All this progress was for nothing."

Killian, expressing sympathy, said: "We need to put this entire situation behind us. We're your friends! We'll ensure it's resolved. For now, I can deliver letters."

Reagan rose quietly and walked off, murmuring, "Come on, girlies....we have classes to attend."

Reagan walked into her classroom and took her usual seat. The lesson ran and finished as usual. Reagan found herself unable to stop thinking about Annabella, replaying the wonderful night they had shared, the feel of her body, the taste of her lips, the warmth of her... Overwhelmed by her thoughts, she skipped meeting her friend after class and headed straight for the old temple in the heart of the forest for some much-needed reflection.

She had been sitting alone for quite some time when the sound of the door opening and closing reached her ears, accompanied by the footsteps and scent she knew all too well. Rising to her feet, she wore an expression of surprise.

Annabella stood there horrified to see Reagan. She tried to turn back and leave but Reagan was already standing behind her.

Annabella said with a trembling voice:" We shouldn't be here together".

Reagan firmly grasped her wrist and tugged her behind the altar. She resisted, but in the end, she complied and followed Reagan.
