Dark worlds make dark minds

I laid upon my tarp while staring into the sky.

~the way things are going right now. there's no way we can pay off our debt.~

We were making three hundred platinum per load by selling those rocks. But we owed thirty thousand by the end of the week. Thirty thousand divided by seven is roughly four thousand two hundred and eight five. And we could only move one load per day. That's nowhere near what we needed to pay off the loan

"Fuuuuuuuuuuck!"

There was no way I was going to pay that back with the current volume we were selling. And if I sold myself over to a distributor in order to get that kind of volume in order to make enough money I would be wasting my own personal power. The distributor would have complete control. So that wasn't a way to go about it either. There was only one solution I could think of. Kill the loan shark.

~Craig has that uncanny muscle related capability. Maybe I can get him to help.~

And so based around that logic I decided to sit. To wait for Craig to return.

....

By the time Craig had gotten back it was dusk. The sun was low in the sky and the world was cloaked in shadows.

Craig has in his hands a wheelbarrow of ores. He looked tired and hopeless.

"Haaaaaaaaa." With a sigh he poured the ores onto the tarp.

"At this rate. We're never going to pay off the loan." Said Craig

~good he's on the same page.~

"I was just thinking about the same thing. I think I've come up with a solution." I said

Craig raised an eyebrow

"Oh really. What did you think up?"

"Kill the loan shark."

Craig's curious expression shattered. What remained was a face haunted by shards of fear.

"Do we really have the power to do that?" Craig asked.

I gave him a smile.

"I've seen your muscles. I'm sure. YOU do." If he couldn't kill him the we were full on out of hope.

"N. No. I can't do that. I'm not strong." He responded

I did what anyone would do. I did the logical thing.

"HYA!"

Craig toppled to the ground blood flowing from his upper lip.

"I'm not"

He barrel rolled on the ground clutching his chest.

I raised my boot prepping for the head shot finale.

"Okay! Okay! I'll do it!" He screeched.

"That's right. Because your strong. So you can help me survive with that strength. After all it's the duty of the strong to help the weak."

....

We squatted about four hundread meters from a small straw shake surrounded by sacks.

"This is the place?" I asked Craig

He nodded. "This is where he's supposed to live."

I grinned "Okay this should be an easy one. His house is made of straw so we'll just light his house on fire when he's in it and stand at the door with pikes pointed towards him.

Craig grinned.

"Simple. Easy. I like it."

We decided that we would light his house on fire with a torch which we would light and then throw at his house. His house didn't have any windows and even the door was made from straw so we should be okay.

...

A buck toothed man stripped naked opened the straw door to his straw house and entered closing the door behind himself.

I lit my torch and creeped towards the doorway a spear in my off hand.

Did I mention that I was good at flying. It was really one of my favourite skills.

*Boom!*

Next thing I knew my ass burned and i was in the air. Miraculously though my torch had managed to stay alight.

~Okay just throw it.~

With a flaming butt and a heavy heart I threw my torch. It landed square on the roof of the straw house.

I landed with a stylistic parcore roll and a wink to the sky. How ya doing sky! Your vagina looks above average! (A/n This makes me cringe so hard that it hurts to reread. Now you've suffered through it too!)

Anyways. I picked my singed spear up off the ground and pointed it towards the entrance to the loan sharks house.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I thought I would have needed Craig's help to kill this guy but he seemed to be burning quite nicely in his house. It was easy.

I rested into a relaxed standing position.

*Booooom*

Next thing I knew I was sent flying into the air. This time I did not land with a parkour roll.

Turns out I was not as good at flying as I thought.

I hit the ground. My body shattered.

"Greg! Greg! GREG!"

Darkness flickered in my vision. Reality continuously faded in and out of the dark.

And then there was only darkness.

Darkness.

I swiveled I twisted. Nothing I was in darkness. Darkness again. I was in the dark.

~GHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!~

In the first five seconds my mind decayed moving back to the state it was in when first in the void. Next five seconds I lost my sense of body. It disbursed like sand blown by hurricane winds.

Next five seconds after that I lost. IT. Nothing remained but a continuous tick.

*taprap taprap taprap taprap taprap.*

Each 0.2 seconds that sound would play. Unending. Uncompromising.

I couldn't bare it. Luckily there was no I. Only the sound

…..

After a limitless chaining of ticks something changed. Within my mouth I tasted salt. I cried. Salt. Real salt. If I could experience a taste then those memories weren't a lie. They were something more than a schizophrenic diversion from the void.

"I'm alive."

And with that I opened my eyes.

The first thing I saw was a chadilier. It was made from gold, silver and glass.

"So honey how was school?" Said a feminine voice.

"Don't know never went to it." I responded.

"Who said that?"

I pulled myself up. I sat at a dinner table. Filled with people I didn't know.
