Chapter 1236 An Unusual Meeting

Venom, extending from behind Eddie, floated in front of him and greeted him. It seemed to sense that Eddie's mental state wasn't great at the moment, and its tone was less vicious and threatening than before.

Staring blankly at this horrifying lifeform that had emerged from his own body, Eddie had no idea what he should do or what he could do. After all, just moments ago, he had been completely under Venom's control, with no control over his own actions.

"What... what are you exactly?" Eddie asked, his voice trembling with helplessness as he held his head.

Although Eddie had been enveloped by Venom just moments ago, he had personally experienced everything Venom had done. So when Venom had bitten off and swallowed the head of Captain, Eddie felt it. He was undeniably frightened.

"Me? I am Venom," Venom replied casually to Eddie's inquiry.

"Do you even realize what you just did? You killed someone! You swallowed a head, a living one!!" Eddie yelled, feeling nauseous. While as a journalist, Eddie had witnessed some gruesome things, he couldn't accept something as grotesque as swallowing a head.

"I killed them because if I didn't, they would have killed you. And now, we are one, to protect you, killing them is quite normal," Venom explained nonchalantly, seeming oblivious to Eddie's anger.

"But what about the head? It's so disgusting!" Eddie exclaimed. "Killing is one thing, but the image of you devouring a head is enough to give me nightmares."

"I already told you, I was hungry and needed to eat. Since you wouldn't let me feast on your organs, I can't just starve, can I? Besides, that bald guy's brain wasn't half as delicious as your liver would be..." Venom replied casually, considering the act of consuming a head rather ordinary.

And, at the end of his explanation, Venom added a calm threat.

After Venom's words, Eddie suddenly felt a strange sensation in the vicinity of his liver. It felt as if something was touching it. The sensation in his abdomen alarmed Eddie, and he realized that Venom might not have been joking about consuming his liver.

"I understand!" Eddie shouted quickly after sensing the feeling in his abdomen disappear. Venom's expression seemed to change slightly, and Eddie realized that he needed to negotiate terms with Venom. Otherwise, he'd remain at Venom's mercy, constantly threatened with the prospect of losing his liver.

Upon careful reflection of their time together and considering Venom's recent words, Eddie quickly came to a conclusion. The lifeform before him, as terrifying as it appeared, needed him to stay alive. Just as Venom had said, they were now one.

However, Eddie believed that this unity was more critical for Venom. Without Eddie as its perfect host, Venom would soon die, just like the other Venom lifeforms in the Life Foundation's lab.

"Eddie... I know what you're thinking. I'm inside you, remember?" Venom spoke up again, its tone much more relaxed.

Venom was well aware of Eddie's fleeting thoughts, and Eddie's considerations were indeed on point. At this moment, Venom couldn't afford to lose Eddie, and it was willing to make some reasonable concessions to ensure their cooperation.

"So, you should also know what I was thinking just now. I can't watch you killing and devouring people everywhere; that's something I can't accept! And certainly, you can't keep threatening me with eating my liver!" Eddie said, seizing the opportunity to lay out his conditions when Venom's tone had eased.

"If I don't eat people... I'll be very hungry... and when I'm hungry, I might end up doing some not-so-good things..." Although Venom thought it could cooperate a bit with its perfect host, it couldn't let go of the issue of its sustenance.

"Hmph! I don't believe you can only fill your stomach by eating people! If you need energy, I can try to satisfy that need. But you can't eat people anymore!" After experiencing Venom's insatiable appetite when it first bonded with him, Eddie wasn't going to easily trust Venom's words.

"Fine, since you put it that way, I'll try my best. But you can't let me go hungry!" To keep Eddie on his side, Venom reluctantly agreed.

As Eddie had suspected, although Venom enjoyed eating people, it didn't mean it couldn't consume other things. As long as it was high in calories and energy, Venom could devour it, just like the Venom in Tony's lab.

This Venom was quite similar in that regard.

"In addition to not eating people, from now on, you have to listen to me! We need to expose Carlton Drake's conspiracy; we can't let his plan succeed, as it would destroy the world!" After Venom agreed to the previous condition, Eddie brought up another demand.

However, perhaps thinking that Eddie didn't have the authority to make such demands, the horrifying face floating in front of Eddie suddenly drew closer. Its blood-curdling maw slightly widened, and its crimson tongue extended, swaying in front of Eddie.

"Eddie, this is no longer something you need to worry about. In fact, I think Carlton Drake is doing a great job. There are still millions of my kind in hibernation on that celestial body outside Mars. Having Carlton Drake bring them all to Earth is a great idea."

Having found a perfect host on Earth and experienced the planet's basic combat capabilities, Venom believed that once his kind arrived, they could dominate this world. Venom would be a hero when that time came.
