Changing the course of history as the hero who died too soon

I lived a half-fulfilled life. I made my family proud by being the first of us all to finish 4 degrees (History, Communications, Writing, and Political Science) in just four years. I pursued my dream by taking the exams of the military academy and getting in. And after another 4 years, I became the first of my class to become Captain rank after earning it in fighting.



Suddenly, as my company was following the route back to base. A lightning storm came around. Actually, it was more lightning than storm when I thought about it more. It struck our transports and lit the fuel tanks on fire. I managed to get most of my men out and towards shelter but the strongest lightning of them all struck me in the back after I tried to get my bag from the truck I was at and knocked my dumbass dead cold.



Then, I woke up. In a room I don't remember being in once in my life. Wearing clothes that looked like some ancient grandpa out there would wear. Bearing a face that clearly wasn't mine. In fact, it was the face of that one guy I had trouble studying about back in college.



And what's worst about this entire situation is that it's June 1896. A month before the revolution he became famous for starts.



Lord help his soul.
