Chapter 3- Flowers

The Blood Over The Bloody Moon

"Umm… Thank you"

A timid tone came from Scarlet.

Scarlet's heart beat too fast; a sudden feeling of love had made her head spin. She was heading home while thinking of Lucas. The moon fought against the heavy dark clouds, casting a hauntingly beautiful, blood-hued light over the tranquil lake. The occasional hoots of owls echoed at the edge of each crowded place.

Another bright and magnificent beauty of the sun showed its rounded golden hue but faintly due to the massive amount of brightness. Scarlet, a girl who genuinely liked flowers, as she always saw a variety of roses inside a transparent vase on the table in her room.

Day by day, the flower changed; Scarlet was too happy and thankful. But the most interesting thing was, she didn't know who put flowers in her vase every day. As the occasional chirp of birds sounded above the tree behind Scarlet's house, she opened the window and a chilly, palpable air suddenly danced through her room. The leaves waved in the wind. There, Lucas was sitting on a large branch of the tree; their eyes met as Scarlet opened the window. The distance between the tree and window was too short.

He was carrying a variety of flowers; he directly gave them to Scarlet and headed home. Unexpectedly, Scarlet woke up without seeing any new flowers in her vase. A whole week had passed and Lucas hadn't shown himself. Scarlet was sad and worried.

Inside her dream, as the moon bathed the world with its bloody hue, there was an unknown man wearing a cloak and floating in midair; his wings were as wide as possible. The flowers were stained with blood while the rain dropped over the night sky. A sudden tear fell from her cheek as she woke to that nightmare.

In the morning, there was the noise of people around the town gathering to a single spot; a corpse of a man without his hands and legs, scars of claws marked on his chest and

blood spread over the ground.

Scarlet immediately headed outside, she was looking around the bridge to where she had encountered Lucas.
