Chapter 10

I looked out the carriage window and caught sight of Charlottenburg Palace, the birthplace of my mother, it was a palace as majestic as the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, designed to be the residence of a royal family and exude grandeur.

However, the Kremlin is a structure that best represents the Russian people—a fortress of ancient warfare built to instill fear in the hearts of enemies and inspire respect and adoration in the hearts of its subjects.

My daily life in Prussia was rather dull, notable figures like inventors or the great industrialist Krupp were yet to be born, making networking efforts fruitless, i would have to wait a few more years to try and recruit some talents from this land. However, I could sabotage existing talents.

My main focus would be on the person responsible for a significant advancement, a diplomat who facilitated Prussia's expansion process: Otto von Bismarck. By the beginning of the year 1825, he was already serving in the Prussian army.

As the months went by, I found myself presented with an opportunity to break the monotony of my days during this trip, we were invited by our hosts to a grand ball hosted by the neighboring kingdom of Hanover.

The event was held in honor of the visit of their ruler, King William IV, who was not only the king of Hanover but also the king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as well as the Duke of Brunswick. It was a golden opportunity to meet the English and mingle with German dukes and princes while enjoying a grand 19th-century party.

The ball would be hosted at Herrenhausen Palace, a beautiful venue bustling with carriages coming and going, the number of nobles and important individuals in attendance would be immense, only my parents and I attended the party, as my sisters were too young for such events, my parents thought it would be interesting for me to make friends with some future noble heirs around my age.
