-Prologue-

The day was only a Sunday morning. Nothing new right? Doing two jobs is really tiring. Though I'm trying to give my little brother a life he deserves.

"Destiny!" I heard my little brother. I became curious, so I turned around, "Yeah?"

"Don't be late today. Alright??"

Oh yeah, he wants me to be home early because it's his birthday.

"I'll try to do my best," I smile toward him, and I sit down and put my shoes on.

Unfortunately, those were the last words I said to my little brother Timothy.

As I walked to my workplace, I saw many policemen around.

Why is that? I asked myself.

I kept walking and I went inside my workplace.

"Hey," I said to my coworker. Though, he looked more worried than usual.

So, I ask, "what's up?"

"Be careful Destiny, there have been shootings around here."

I saw nothing with that because I never thought it would happen to me.

"I'll try. I have to get home early tonight for my little brother," I said in response.

"Oh, Timothy? Is it his birthday today? Thought it was tomorrow," he casually looks up in a thoughtless way.

"Yeah, he's turning twelve," I smile down.

"He's the only family you got huh?" He looked at me and reluctantly said that with a smile,

"Yeah, he is." I said and started working.

After a few hours, I saw my shift was almost over.

"Oh, the time. I should clean up," I said to myself while looking at my wristwatch.

"Destiny, can you take out the trash, please?" My coworker had asked,

"Yeah," I said without a thought and took the trash out.

Suddenly I felt something leery about my surroundings. I heard a gun go off about twenty feet away from me.

Without a simple sound, I turned around and there was a gun pointed at me,

"What?" Was the last word that breathed out,

There I got shot.

I saw the blood pouring out of me. I felt cold inside and I fell to the ground. The ground was cold and bitter. It added to the coldness of my body. I wasn't sure. I saw the person run away while my coworker tried to help me.

Why here? Why did I deserve this?

I couldn't stay by my little brother's side. He just turned 12.

What would he think when he finds out about this?

Ah, I wish I could just live a peaceful life. No more regret. Just...me and my brother. With my eyes closed and I felt peace.

UNTIL I opened my eyes to a place unfamiliar to me. Golden chandelier, bars at the side, wooden to be precise, and a baby toy. WAIT. Am I the baby??

I tried getting up and looked at the mirror on the other side. As I looked in the mirror, I saw that my hair was black, and my eyes started to sparkle with some red and blue mixed together.

Who am I? I asked myself.

"My lady is awake!" I heard someone say. I looked over and saw a... maid? Is this some romance novel I'm trapped in???

"Oh well then, so is this the little rabbit that I'm supposed to take care of?" I look up at this tall man, but he looks like me. Is this...my father? His hair dark black like the night sky, his eyes were like rubies shining like ones in a treasure chest.

"Father?" Were the first words out of my mouth?

Everyone just stood still and this person who looked over me had his eyes widened. "What?" One of the maids whispered,

"This should be interesting. It can talk already, but it is only a month old." The man had proudly said.

Wait, I'm a month old and you have never seen me before?

"Keep her in the palace, take care of...Angelica,"

"Sir! Is that what you're naming her?" One of the maids asked and bowed. "Yes, since it is her fate, to be the next one in line for my throne, she shall succeed Me." he said before he walked out.

Me next in line for the throne? Pretty sure that they don't know I can understand them loud and clear.

This will be a long journey.
