Episode 1 : The Beginning of a Foul's Journey Part I

The adventuress was running towards me with her right fist clenched tightly. I looked at my surroundings to find someone to save me from this situation but no one caught my eye. There were just drunk men who enjoys this type of chaos.

While I was looking around, she appeared in front of me and threw a punch at me which I slightly dodged. Knowing that she will punch with her right helped a lot.

" Interesting, so you can use it too."

" What are you talking about?" I asked while trying to evade her attacks. Even though some of them hit me, I could still move. That is weird if we take into account that this woman one shotted Big Rocky who is nearly two times heavier than I am. I am sure that I am not stronger than Rocky.

Perhaps she really used magic to win against Rocky and fights with her real power now. That is a bit throwing off but if it is true, I can win against her.

If I can win against her, maybe I would get respect from others. That way I can change myself and my position in the town.

I carefully analyzed my opponent's movement. She was looking directly at my eye and was getting ready to punch me with her left. That means she will go for my head and that is why I should hit her chin before she hits me.

However, the adventuress didn't move as I expected and hit me with a right hook on my body.

" Good thought kiddo. I didn't excepted someone far from the capital to read my moves for this long... I mean for a sec."

I was on my knees and couldn't stand again. That body shot really hurt.

The crowd was already dispersed and there were just some children left.

" But you know, you narrowed your vision only to my movements and reacted based on them. For that reason, it was pretty much easy to manipulate you."

" Aghh, can you answer a question of mine?"

" What is it?" She had a huge smile while saying that.

" You defeated Big Rocky with no difficulty but it took longer for you to defeat me. How is that possible? You should have defeated me in no time."

She laughed at my question " Hahaha, kid, you say that but do you know where does strength comes from? or what separates us from each other when it comes to power?"

I was stunned at her questions. In a normal situation, I would relate her win to her superior physical strength but that didn't seemed to be case because of her performance against Big Rocky. Then the only answer leads to:

" It is because you can do magic, right?"

" Hmmm, so you decide to call it magic. Then the reason I won would be indeed because I used magic. Although, I prefer calling it-"

" Wait, so that means you can really use magic. Can you teach- ... Ouch!"

She hit me in the head.

" Learn listening to your elders first!"

"As I was saying, I wouldn't say that my power is magic. It is just the way how I perceive the world around me. You also have something similar to that. Something that shapes your world and the way you want to follow as you live: Your reason."

The way that I will carve out. I want to become a person who wants to be successful and escape from this town. But I don't think this is what she meant. Perhaps, it is about something I desire.

" So, you didn't even realized it even though you are capable of using it."

She seemed to be thinking and was making strange faces while having her hand on her chin. Then she asked:

" Tell me kid, Is your family from this village?"

" Why would you ask that?"

" Just answer the question."

" No, I don't have any family. I am all alone. The sister said that she found me crying inside of the church and she is the one that gave me the name Gabriel because she thought I would be protected by the angels if she did so."

She looked at me and frowned. Then she wanted me to describe the town and the people in it. Hell, she was asking very weird questions. I explained her everything from the scratch. Our town is named after the first mayor of it: Stonemen. Stonemen is very far from the capital so merchants and travelers doesn't visit here. Due to that, we are not a rich town. There are around 20 houses and one church. That is nearly all there is to our town that is worth being mentioned.

The woman in front me was getting more angry as I continued. It came to a point that I felt shivers up on my spine. Then the moment I finished talking she said this:

" Listen me well, kiddo. I don't know the reason why you still can see them as human but you don't belong here."

She handed me a paper with something written on it. It was about Stonemen but it mentioned something about demons.

To dear Executioner,

We politely ask you to get rid of the town named Stonemen. This town's citizens have demonic power. Our magic radars tells there are about 80-100 low grade demons. If you clear this task the mentioned rewards would be given:

1) 10 gold coins

2) The title of " The Hundred Demon Butcher"

" What is the meaning of this? Who are you?" I was so confused. This woman was someone dangerous. I should avoid her no matter what. But my desire to hearing her answer was stronger than that.

" My name is Anne Marie Santana, also called as the Executioner of the Unwanted. I am here because of the mission I got from the higher ups in the capital. They wanted me to destroy this town due to it being a nest of demons."

I immediately ran to church in order to inform the sister. She could calm the executioner and explain her the situation. Sister can't be a demon. She always talks with me about the importance of God's teachings. Yes, everything will be alright as long as I can find sister.

My head was hurting but I still ran towards sister who was standing at the end of the hall. I held her from the arms.

" Sister, quick. The woman earlier is an executioner who came for our heads. And and, and she says we are demons. You need to talk some sense into her." I said while using the last breath in my lungs.

But something really strange happened. My vision was getting blurred. No, it was getting divided in two, I saw two sisters, one being the one I know and the other one was a demonic creature.

" Calm down, Gabby. Tell me what happened from the start."

" Calm down, -------. That executioner will die at my hands no matter how much she tries."

Ughh, I can't understand what is happening right now. Was the executioner right or am I just seeing some delusions? I feel like my skull is cracking up.

Meanwhile the sound of a door being opened was heard. The silhouette of a woman with two man being carried by the woman was seen.

" Sister, it seems she won't listen to us. Run for your life." but it was too late for me anyway. My consciousness was fading. The last image I saw was the executioner getting closer.
