  After sending Connor off, Annette heaved a sigh of relief. She didn't want to see him again.

  Early the next morning, Annette cooked some macaroni for breakfast and went downstairs.

  She had just left the building when she saw Connor.

  Connor stood there, holding a bouquet in his hand with a smile.
