Chapter 49

Annette's indifference did not affect Curtis.

Curtis took her lunchbox and said, "Do you mind if I eat your sandwich? We shouldn't waste food, right?"

Annette reached out to take the lunchbox back. "Curtis, I've eaten half of it already. You shouldn't."

"We are colleagues. I don't mind." As he spoke, Curtis held the lunchbox and avoided her hand. He sat down beside her.

Annette stood up. She walked down the stairs to keep her distance from him.

Curtis said dejectedly, "Annette, do you think that I'm annoying?"

Annette put her hands behind her, her expression calm.

"Curtis, I understand what you meant last night. I hope that you can keep some distance from me. I have a boyfriend, and I should be loyal to him. Stand in my shoes and think about it. You will also feel disappointed if your girlfriend flirts with another man behind your back."
