Chapter 51

Master leaned back and said. "Okay, sad talk over. Serious talk now. So, about the kid, Rona. Ya wanted to know about her parents ay?" I nodded. Master scratched his beard. "Oof. That is one tough cookie, I'm telling ya."

I moved closer. "So you do have something, Master."

Master tilted his head. "Well, ya, but it's complicated. But let's do simple first. First, her parents were well accomplished scientists who specialized in genetic modifying in Eden. Second, they were kidnapped to create a device that could alter or create new genes in human. Third, during their experiment, something happened, which led them to fled back into Eden and hide there till now."

I scrunched up my face. "There's something wrong with point number 3... Right. There's a big jump. What happened in the lab? Didn't the Scorpion chase them? How did they fled back to Eden?"

"Ya see, ermm... Well... One question at a time!" Master screamed, and I got startled. I nodded my head in response, and then Master continued. "15 years ago, around December, Rona's parents fled with a child at hand."

I interrupted Master and said. "You mean Rona's parents kidnapped her from her real parents?"

"I guess that's a person's normal response. But, no, that's not what I meant, stud. Think. Think. What is Rona's parents' profession?"

"Genetic modification. What? Rona is a GMO? A complete human GMO? Made from scratch?"

"I never said that and keep quiet. Let me tell my story. I never interrupted ya when ya tell me story, did I, stud?" I shook my head. Master nodded and continued his story. "When they fled with the child, the Scorpion found out and chased after them. The Scorpion thought they stole a weapon which the Scorpion made and tried to fled to Eden. But when they found out that they were just carrying a baby, they released them. Since they had done their job of creating a device that can create and alter genes, they had no use of them."

I raised my hand, and Master asked. "What, stud?"

"The Scorpion didn't kill them?"

"No. The Grand Master decided not to, at the time. So they went back to Eden and lived in silence till now. Unfortunately, her parents did steal something. A weapon that can create and destroy life."

I cleaned my ears and said. "What? I only heard of those in sci-fi movies, but for it to already exist? It's so cool and... deadly."

"Actually, they stole the core. Without the core, the weapon is just an empty shell. I presume her parents took the core and put it inside Rona."

I raised my hand again, and Master said. "All right. I guessed it was a bit too complicated for ya. Hurry up."

"How can they put a weapon core inside Rona? Her body should be filled with organs."

Master smiled. "That's the thing. After the Scorpions released Rona's parents, they went through their data log and found something intriguing. They secretly created a vessel that can store the weapon core without the vessel blowing up. The Scorpions didn't know how it could be done. So they tracked Rona's parents again, but no trace could be found. So here's a question for ya stud. Where do you think the weapon core is?"

'That was my question, but after listening to Master rambling, I think...' I replied. "The heart."

Master laughed. "I thought that too, stud."

'Oui...' I moved closer to Master. "You mean you don't know?"

Master looked at me. "If you are so curious, why not open her up and see it yourself, stud?"

I backed away and showed a face of disgust. "No way, that's inhumane."

Master laid on the ground. "She isn't a human."

I looked away and pouted. "It's all speculation."

Master sighed and shook his head. "Anyways, time is almost up. Ya got any farewell question for me?"

I turned back and said. "Ya, I do. I was wondering -"

Master interrupted me. "Ya know what? Let's skip questions today. Master will give you a bonus instead."

I crossed my arm. "Can't you answer my question then you give me the bonus."

Master tsked me. "Stud. Stud. Stud. Shouldn't ya know ya Master by now? I don't give free information."

"But it's our farewell. Can't you be less cheapskate?"

Master picked his nose and said. "No."

I frowned. Then Master continued. "Here's a bonus, beware of the third son. Alright, I'm done."

I looked at Master in confusion. "What third son? And that's all you are giving? That's beyond cheapskate!"

"I never told ya about the 3 sons?" Master scratched his head.

"Nope!" I clenched my fist.

"Oops. Tee hee! Well, find that out yourself. I can't keep spoon feeding you everything, or else how are you going to grow up?" Master stuck out his tongue.

"Master!" I yelled in anger.

Zit. Zit.

I heard a weird noise. 'Huh? What's that sound?'

"Times up, gotta go, ciao. Good luck, stud~" Master waved me goodbye.

"Master?!" I was left in shock as he faded out like what happened to Mr. James in the first game.

I blinked, and I was back in the dungeon again. I was lying on the ground in my sleeping position. 'I'm back again. That old geezer...' I sat up and accidentally smacked Isaac's head with mine.

Bam!

"AAHH!" Isaac screamed and dropped to the ground and fainted. Rona and Ronald, who were squatting beside me, jumped back and fell on their butt. I rubbed my head. "Hmm...? Oops... Didn't realize Isaac was there."

Ronald checked my head for injuries while Rona quickly moved towards Isaac. She tried calling out to him at first, but he wasn't responding. So she decided to use her fist instead and punched Isaac in the stomach. I grabbed Ronald's arm and pointed at Rona. Ronald saw and screamed. "Rona! Don't! You will kill him!" Ronald quickly pulled Rona away from Isaac. I looked at Isaac, and I saw bubbles forming from his mouth. "Oui... My head smack definitely didn't kill him, but that fist punch is a different case."

While Ronald was struggling with Rona, I picked Isaac up and shook him. "It isn't time to sleep, shorty. Wake up! Wake up! I got something important to tell you!" I shook him until he woke up.

Isaac opened his eyes slowly. "Eh... Huh? Where? Ugh! My head hurts." I immediately replied. "That's what happens when you drink too much. Drink less, shorty!" Rona and Ronald looked at me, confused, then looked at each other. I gave them the sign to keep their mouth shut. They nodded and closed their mouth.

Isaac turned his head towards me and screamed. "I don't drink, you imbecile! Don't lie to me. I know what happened. And what is your head made of? Rocks? No, wait. Maybe it is." Isaac huffed and puffed in anger.

I grabbed Isaac, Rona, and Rona and hugged them. "Anyways, the most important thing is that you all are safe."

Isaac got extremely irritated and screamed. "Stop hugging!" But I didn't let go.

After a while, I finally let go of them. Isaac wheezed and said. "All that sloth do is sleep and hug. How annoying."

I heard every word Isaac said but decided to ignore it since there's more pressing matter to discuss. "While I was sleeping, I had this weirdest dream."

"Weirdest dream? How? A dinosaur chased after you?" Ronald gulped nervously.

I shook my head and said. "Nope. That would be too normal."

"Normal? How is dinosaur chasing after you normal?" Ronald asked.

Rona added. "Rona's dream is Rona chasing after dinosaur to eat them. They were so delicious." We moved away from Rona. 'Did Rona eat someone in her dreams?'

I laughed awkwardly. "Anyways, right after the 3rd game, we fell asleep, right?" They nodded their head. I continued. "After that, I woke up in a lab. It was a strange lab. It had many weird equipment. I wanted to have a stroll around the place, but I was tied up. I also heard some people wearing a lab coat talking about a plan or something, but I couldn't hear properly."

"A lab, huh." Isaac pondered.

"Ya. While I was trying to figure out where I was exactly, a woman came in and talked to me. She told me that we were in a virtual trial this entire time."

"A kind lady. How nice." Ronald smiled. Rona nodded. "Kind lady!"

"She tried to kill me after that."

"Oh..." Ronald's face went pale, then he panicked. "Are you alright?!"

I nodded. "Yup. No worry!" I looked at Isaac, who has been silent for a while. "What's wrong?"

"I knew it. Those mystical creatures do not exist." Isaac mumbled.

I sighed. "You're still huff up about it? Man, move on already." Suddenly, I remembered. "Oh, right. That lady also told me about a tracker and a bomb in our brain."

They screamed. "WHAAAAT??!!"

Ronald touched his head and asked. "Really? Where? Where?"

Isaac shook his head. "If we are really in a virtual world, that means the bomb inside our body in the real world. So even if you cracked open your brain here, you wouldn't find a bomb or a tracker."

Ronald gloomed. Rona patted Ronald's head. "It's okay. Rona is here!" Ronald stared at Rona with twinkling eyes. 'Rona is an angel!'

Isaac sighed. "Fools. They're all fools."
