Chapter 9 Must Stay Low Key

Lian laughed with zero restraint "A world without beast cores would be stagnation for you! Haha!"

Junfang rolled his eyes and scoffed "What's so funny about that? Come on, tell me. Is it only beast cores that can help me rank up?"

Lian muttered softly "I can't tell you yet but you don't have to worry. At each level, you're stronger than your peers"

Junfang shrugged "I can tell that"

Lian said "By one whole rank"

Now it was his turn to be shocked once again "A whole freaking rank? You must be kidding me. A whole rank consists of four sub levels! Do you know how long it takes those average potentials"

Lian chuckled "Am not, knucklehead. Against average humans, you're stronger than those who are at your levels by one and against genius humans, you're stronger than them by two sub levels. And against beasts you're stronger by one rank than those who are of the same rank as you"

Junfang jumped up in excitement but had overexerted his injured body and started coughing blood.

Lian scolded him out of worry "Y..you! You stupid idiot! Why would you jump in this state! Now your injuries have gotten worse! You want to worry me to death! Take two third tier cores! Quickly now"

Junfang took two third tier cores and absorbed both at once for healing.

Lian almost slapped her head when she saw that "When I asked you take two cores quickly, I didn't actually mean take two at once. I hope you don't explode silly boy"

After Junfang absorbed two at once, his injuries healed rapidly even the internal ones. Then the injury on his chest and by his ribs had closed up with no scar. It was as though it had never been there if the torn shirt hadn't revealed that fact.

Junfang then turned around to see if Haoyun had woken up and it was just in time cause it seemed as though she was going through a breakthrough then suddenly a bright red light shone from her body which made him avert his eyes.

When the light faded and Junfang opened his eyes again. At where Haoyun's body was supposed to be, a little girl of five years old with little wings on her back and scales lined up from below her knee to her feet and on her arms appeared there in her birthday suit.

Junfang rolled his eyes and had a thought 'Luckily, my mum taught me how to make all genders apparel with just needle and thread or else I would have been carrying three unclad girls around till I got to a place where I could get clothes for them. But why did Haoyun break through all of a sudden? Was it because of my blood? I should just probably ask her'

Lian laughed and said "That's true or others would have thought you were a deranged pedophile! Damn, that would have been hilarious"

Junfang just rolled his eyes at her words but before he could utter a reply to her taunts. Haoyun already jumped into his arms shouting emotionally "Yay! You're alive! Master! You're alive! Am alive too! Waa! I thought I would never see you again!!"

Junfang was emotional too and hugged her back "Haoyun, am happy to see you too. Also, stop calling me master. Call me whatever you want"

Lian sneered "Hmph, playing favourites. You didn't let me call you whatever I wanted"

Haoyun then looked at him "Okay, Master since you said so. I'll call youu... Brother!"

Junfang patted her head "So how did you break through and what's your tier now?"

Haoyun replied with elation "Brother, your blood is super and upgraded my bloodline. Am now at fifty percent fire phoenix bloodline! Am gonna become a phoenix one day! Also am at peak fourth tier now, will break through to fifth tier when I eat enough Wind Water Carp"

Junfang was perplexed "Only few sub levels increase?"

Lian rolled her eyes "Do you think your blood is heavenly medicine that changes a person constitution all round? Majority of your blood energy went to upgrade her bloodline. Minority went to healing her and the left overs raised her levels up"

Junfang then asked a shocking question "Is it possible to cultivate my blood?"

Lian shaked her head "It's only if you possess the blood ability."

Junfang replied with doubt "You mean the Blood wings ability?"

Lian laughed "Blood wings is just one of the many functions of blood energy. Also don't ever ever let anyone know about your portal void space ability, okay? If you are asked that what ability do you have. You say tattooing ability that is keeping weapons in form of tattoos on your body and you tell them that you can only keep two since you're at F-rank. Tell no one your real level, alright?"

Junfang agreed with her "Yea, I know. Gotta stay low key if I wanna live"

(Actually tattooing is not his ability at first but the ability give to him by his bloodline like the hearing ability which he was given because he was born from the bloodline but hadn't awaken it at that time that's why he bled when he used it before awakening)

Then as Junfang was about to absorb another core, a voice came up behind him "Ahh, Brother? You're awake finally! Ehh.. who is this?"

When he turned around, he saw Suxi who was carrying Liwu standing behind him. They were looking at Haoyun confused.

Junfang said as he carried Haoyun onto his lap "This is Haoyun, somehow through my blood she had gained partial human form"

Suxi was surprised so was Liwu as Liwu said "Yay!! Sis Haoyun looks even prettier now"

Haoyun blushed and covered her face "Oh stop it, Liwu"

Junfang then gave Haoyun to Suxi to play and took the remaining cores to a side so he could absorb them in peace.

He was about to take the third tier core first then Lian said "Hey, my silly hubby take the fourth tier ones first before the third tier. You lucky boy already jumping two ranks in one day"

Junfang just rolled his eyes in response and took the fourth tier cores first.

After absorbing the fourth tier core, he got to D-rank instantly which shocked him even though they had calculated earlier.

Then suddenly a wave of unbearable pain hit his whole body and he shouted out of reflex "Ahh!!"

His shout alarmed the girls who were chatting leisurely on the other side. When Suxi wanted to go check what was wrong, Liwu stopped her by saying "Daddy is a weird existence, humans can't eat cores but he can which already exceeds the limitations of even those so called higher ups of the human. Daddy is ranking up now and it seems his body breaks through limitations everytime to be able to withstand his future strength. I am worried about him too but I don't want us to interfere with his body changes, he might die"

After hearing that, Suxi stopped in her tracks and held her fist in worry.

Even Haoyun wanted to go forward but waited cause of Liwu's words.

After a while, the pain was gone and he had finally leveled up to D-rank also got a new ability but before he could check it. The three girls jumped onto him and started crying.

As he was perplexed about it, he asked "Girls, what happened?"

Haoyun spoke up first "Brother, you were shouting in so much pain it felt as though we were feeling your pain"

Suxi said while sobbing "We wanted to help but we didn't know what was going on neither did we want to hurt you"

Liwu hugged his neck tightly "Daddy! Are you alright? Liwu doesn't want Daddy to be in pain!"

Lian giggled "Awww, Daddy of three, Haha! So cute, so these are my babies too ehnn nice they are very sweet"

Junfang was moved by their care and warmth for him so he hugged them back as he said "Girls, don't worry, am alright. Am already used to this pain, you girls don't have to worry yourselves. Am alright so stop crying naw, you're gonna make me cry if you don't stop"

The three girls nodded and wiped their faces then Junfang just noticed that Haoyun had no clothes on and he still had to absorb three more cores cause he didn't know which danger they would face sooner or later so he just picked one of his shirts from his space and gave it to her.

He said as he wore it for her "You wear this for now when am done, I will make your clothes, okay?"

Haoyun shook her head "No, Brother doesn't need to make any clothes for me, this one is big and long enough to cover my scales and wings, I don't want to stress brother"

Junfang patted her head and wanted to say she didn't need to worry but she stared at him hard so he changed his words "Alright fine fine but when we get back home, We'll all go shopping together for new clothes, okay?"

The three girls nodded with anticipation then Junfang took out the food container which was in his bag and gave it to Haoyun "Haoyun, you haven't eaten yet so go eat now"

Then he turned to face the other two "Are you two hungry?"

Suxi shaked her head and Liwu said "No we are not hungry but me want sweet stuff"

Junfang checked his void space and brought out some chocolate bars "I have no more candy but I have chocolate bar, they are sweet too"

Liwu accepted it happily and dragged Suxi to go meet Haoyun.

While he went back to feeding himself the beast cores so he could rank up.

Lian spoke before he could take the second fourth tier "Hey, silly hubby, won't you check which ability you got first?"

Then Junfang realized he really had forgotten to see which ability he got. He was so curious and hoped it was a blood ability so he could start cultivating blood energy.

He checked his ability arsenal which Lian had showed him just now.

He saw three balls of energy of different colours and shapes floating in the arsenal.

The first one was like the void, the second was flashing like the street lights and the third was like a person's shadow but also not a shadow.

As he clicked on that one, he saw the name.

"Man shifter ability. Ability to take shape of any human being below your rank regardless of gender."

When he saw that, he was ecstatic and tried it out but he noticed it didn't work then he asked Lian "Hey, what's going on, my ability didn't work."

Lian chuckled before saying "Hehe, dumbass. Bet you couldn't figure it out ehh. The trick to this ability is that you must copy the body structure of an actual human who is below your rank but the person doesn't have to be alive for you to copy. But you can only copy real actual humans with human bloodlines and not those with special body characteristics that make them look human when their bloodline is just alike and you can't copy those beasts who turned to humans either."

Junfang rolled his eyes and said "A lot of restrictions but it's better than nothing, not everyone gets an ability every rank like I do. But then, Lian, could I try the ability on Suxi?"

Lian shook her head "Suxi is not a total human. Her soul is another type of spirit being and besides, her body isn't even a real human body. It was made from a special material which I can't put my finger on. Anyways, make her bleed well maybe her blood could give me an idea on what she is."

Junfang was shocked "No! How could I make Suxi bleed just to know her origin! Not allowed! No no no!!!"

Lian giggled "Hubby, chill. Even your blood is different. In fact, only Haoyun and Liwu have normal red blood cause they are beasts. Another fact, there are two requirements to cultivating blood energy, the first is your blood cannot be the normal human blood and second is you must possess a blood ability. You and Suxi fit one of the requirements but as for the second, I have no idea which one of you two will be able to fulfill it by the way"

Junfang was suddenly worried "So Suxi's blood is also different like mine but since she's a reborn, due to the situations of her rebirth. She has become not human like me and I don't even know what I am talk less of knowing what she is.."

Lian poked in "Well, actually.. Hubby, I know what bloodline you have but I can only know Suxi's bloodline if I see her blood"

Junfang ignored her second sentence and focused on the first "Since you know what I am, please tell me"

Lian grinned inwardly and said "Lucky Brat, your bloodline is the extremely rare-"

Before she could finish her words, a loud screeching sound echoed around them repeatedly.

The three girls rushed over to his side frantically as Suxi spoke first "Big brother, what's going on, the ground is shaking a lot!"

Junfang patted her head then asked Haoyun "Haoyun, is it possible for you to fly us out of this hole?"

Haoyun puffed her chest in the air and said with gusto "Big brother, you're underestimating me! Of course I can"

Junfang rolled his eyes and asked "Then why didn't you say so before? We could have left much earlier"

Haoyun stuck her tongue out and send "Big brother didn't ask me"

Junfang flicked her forehead then said as he took the light ball but didn't switch it off "Suxi, go put all the containers in my bag then bring it over while Haoyun, transform back into a bird already and let's get out of this damn hole"

He then gave the light ball to Liwu "You'll hold the light ball till we are out of here. Once we get out, you switch it off, okay?"

Liwu nodded with a cute smile.

Junfang carried her then collected the bag from Suxi to throw it into the void and at that moment, Haoyun had transformed into a red and blue-coloured bird about five meters wide and three meters long.

Junfang carried Suxi and Liwu into his arms then got onto Haoyun's back, when he had securely kept them on his lap. The ground below them suddenly cracked.

Haoyun saw that and hurriedly said "Hang on tight!" then flew off with an incredible speed that Junfang had to hold on tight to her scales while Suxi and Liwu held his clothes tightly.

After what almost seemed like a decade. They finally got out of the hole but the ground above was also shaking like that hole. When Haoyun was about to land on one of trees since the ground was still unsafe, Junfang told her with their mindlink "The whole area is unsafe, continue flying. We must get at least five kilometers away from this place. A dangerous beast is awakening right now, I heard it. In fact, it's best if you could get to the city as soon as possible. We would be much more safer there."

Haoyun nodded and hurriedly flew in the direction Junfang pointed out.

When they were about two kilometers away from the city gates, Junfang signaled for Haoyun to fly lower as flying was not allowed within the city premises.

When they got closer to the gates, Haoyun landed and as Junfang was wondering where he could keep Haoyun cause he didn't want to attract attention in the city.

Lian said to him that "Have you forgotten about your space mansion in your subconscious?"

Junfang was puzzled "My space mansion?"

Lian nodded "Yeah, the mansion you saw when you came here, it's a place for your beast to be kept and the best thing is there is lot of room"

Junfang was elated and asked "What about humans?"

Lian shook her head "Not really, only those with beast bloodlines can be kept and they must be your pet. If you want to be able to keep other bloodlines other than beast, you need to reach S-rank first."

Junfang sighed but was still happy nonetheless then he sent Haoyun into the space mansion

Suxi and Liwu were puzzled as to how Junfang made Haoyun disappear then he told them what Lian told him

Liwu jumped into his arms excitedly "Daddy, could you send me in too? I want to decorate my room"

Junfang agreed and sent her in also.
