A soft voice welcomed Damon. It was the AI responsible for helping with the character creation menu.
The place he was in was all white, and it had nothing inside, only a mirror where he could look at himself.
A menu appeared before him, allowing him to customize his appearance, but only to a small extent.
"Let me see. Human race, class Cleric, hm. That's it."
Damon opted not to change his appearance. The nickname was pre-made already, as the game helmet logged into the account using facial recognition.
"Please, choose your starting village."
A list appeared, and just like Damon and the rest of his party had decided, he chose White Branch Village.
Damon's vision turned black, and before he noticed, he was not inside the white room anymore but in a small village.
He was not the only one, as countless other players spawned in the same village as him.
"This is so real, holy." one player said, and soon all of them were screaming in joy after seeing how realistic Bless was.
Damon felt the same way, but he was not speaking aloud like a retard. The first thing he did was to open up his menu and search for the friends' tab. Then, he added Henry, Shawn, and Rebecca.
They accepted his friendship request within seconds, and Shawn made a group and invited everyone there to exchange words more easily.
'Let's meet each other near the beginner NPC.'
Like any other MMORPG, people had to complete quests and kill monsters to level up.
There weren't many questions inside the beginner village, but there was one NPC everyone knew about.
It was like the tutorial NPC, who would give them easy quests to get used to the game.
Damon did not know where the NPC was, but it was not hard to find it. All he had to do was follow the stream of players.
He found his new friends in no time. They were far from the other players, and Rebecca's blonde hair was easy to spot in the crowd. Henry, too, as he looked like a tower.
"Damon, bro. Create a party and call us." Henry said, hugging Damon, almost breaking his bones.
Damon opened up his friends' menu and invited all of them to a party. After they accepted it, their basic information could be seen on the party menu.
It only displayed the name, level, class, health, and mana points. Damon saw that and decided to look better at his stats inside his character tab.

There was not a single damaging spell, at least not for now. Damon knew that was the case, but it was not a problem.
It was a fact that the number of healers was way less than the DPS number. Players wanted to damage and not help others.
Damon was not fixated on that. He researched the game deeply and saw that Clerics could also do damage. He could also find a secret class if he got lucky.
The truth was that Damon wanted an army of people who worshiped him, so being a healer was the best thing he could do.
Anyone would do anything to have a skilled healer on their side. That was the case with any MMORPG and even more with Bless.
"Now that the party is set let's get some quests and go kill monsters!" Henry said, leaving the rest behind and going straight to the beginner NPC.
"Henry is more excited than all of us," Damon said.
Rebecca, someone who had known Henry for a while, said, "he's always like that, but he's a good friend."
They followed him to the NPC.
Many players were still admiring the realism of the game, so the beginner NPC was not surrounded by all the players, which meant it was the best time to try to get a quest.
Henry, a mountain, walked, and all the players let him pass. Damon and the others followed right behind him.
"Hello, adventurers. You are here to help deal with the monsters outside our village?"
The beginner NPC was an old man. Damon saw the information above his head, which only said '10'. It was the NPC's level.
Henry was stunned seeing how real and human the NPC looked, so Damon had to take the lead.
"Yes, we are. Can you please tell us how we can help?"
The NPC turned, looking directly at Damon with a surprised face.
"A Cleric? How reassuring. Now I can rest knowing that the dangers around our village will be dealt with. May the gods bless your kind heart."
"Wow. It even reacts differently to each player." Shawn said, visibly surprised, just like Henry.
"Wolves are attacking our sheep outside. Could you deal with them for me? I can reward you for your service."
[Ding]
[New Quest]
[Description: Help the chief of White Branch Village deal with the troublesome wolves outside.]
[Objectives: Kill 50 Blue-Furred Wolves.]
[Difficulty: F]
[Reward: 30 copper coins.]
Damon was not the only one that received the pop-up. All the members of the party also did. He accepted the quest and left the village.
On the way, they chatted, trying to know each other better.
"I loved your black hair, Damon; it suits you," Rebecca said, and the rest of them agreed, nodding their heads.
"Thanks. Yours are also damn cool. And you, Henry, you look like a truck."
Henry laughed and flexed his muscles, "this is years of hard work and genetics."
The others gazed at each other and laughed. Henry was a strange dude.
