I possess knowledge of her inquiry, yet my lips remain sealed, hesitant to partake in discourse. How am I to convey my response when my mouth hesitates, gripped by apprehension?

I do not fear to confess the truth, but dread articulating it, for I foresee a tumultuous and unfavorable outcome. What if Primo truly cherishes Wendy? Will everything then become entangled? Tita Helena would grow more incensed with me, and her accusations of me being flirtatious would gain authenticity.

I sought within for the courage to utter the truth, and when I drew from an inner reservoir, I responded to Emerald's inquiry. My eyes were shut, evading gazes I knew were fixed upon me.

"Yes, but—" I began, only to be promptly interrupted by Olivia.
