Chiaotzu flew out of his home. Launch invited Tien out to do a crime heist earlier today, and Chiaotzu was bored. Normally, Tien wouldn't agree to going out and helping Launch with her criminal stuff, but today was her birthday, and she always asks him to go out on a crime spree with her. She also said that she didn't want Chiaotzu to come, so he was left alone in the house.
Today he would've sparred with Tien before training for the rest of the day but since Tien isn't here and most likely won't be coming back home tonight. Chiaotzu would have to find another sparring partner! Let's see who's at Roshi's place!
Chiaotzu flew towards Roshi's house, wondering who would be his sparring partner. If he fought against Krillin, he thought he would be able to beat him without having to rely on his telekinesis this time. Tien said that he fought pretty well against Piccolo in the 23rd World Tournament, even though he lost. Chiaotzu wondered just how much stronger he's gotten now. He knows that he changed a lot himself from how he used to be.
Chiaotzu arrived on Roshi's island. He greeted the turtle who was napping outside and flew inside to greet Krillin and Roshi!
"Hey, guys!"
"Aye, it's Chiaotzu! What's up, man?" Krillin greeted while sitting on the couch with Roshi.
"Heya Krillin! I was looking for a sparring partner! Do you wanna have a go?"
"Ehhh..." His response wasn't as positive as Chiaotzu was expecting.
"Get your lazy bones up, Krillin. You've been slacking off so much I could probably beat ya now." Roshi whacked Krillin's bald head with his staff.
"Fine. Fine. Let's go outside. I guess I haven't been keeping up on my training like I said I would." Krillin walked outside, and Chiaotzu followed behind him, floating.
The two stood across from each other on the beach and got into their martial stances.
"Ready when you are, buddy," Krillin smirked.
"I won't go easy on you!" Chiaotzu disappeared and reappeared in front of Krillin.
He threw a straight punch at his face, and Krillin's eyes went wide in shock. He leaned his head back just in time to avoid the hit but wasn't quick enough to dodge the back fist to his chest that came after. The turtle student was sent sliding to the other side of the island, barely stopping before entering the waters.
"Ow, ow ow. That was a good hit! But don't think I'm done yet!" Krillin clutched his chest and jumped after his same-sized opponent.
"Haha, bring it, Krillin!" Chiaotzu playfully laughed.
Krillin let off a flurry of attacks on Chiaotzu, who responded with a tight defense. None of Krillin's blows could directly land on him, no matter how hard he fought. Chiaotzu's grinning face only served to amp up Krillin's offense. His attacks became sharper and more confusing.
Krillin threw a punch behind Chiaotzu's head, and just as he dodged it, Krillin grabbed the back of his head and punched him in the stomach. With a satisfied chuckle, Krillin kicked Chiaotzu away and threw a ki blast at him as he was flying. The nearly bald fighter recovered as he was flying away and smacked the ki blast into the sea, causing a small eruption of water to rise.
"How do you like that!?"
"You play dirty, Krillin!"
"No, I don't! I just use my brain, stupid!"
"I'm not stupid badly!"
"You're bald too!"
"No, I'm not!" Chiaotzu revealed his single strain of hair on the top of his head and wiggled it.
"That's basically bald!"
"Shut it, shrimp!"
"I'll show you a shrimp!" Krillin leaped towards the flying Chiaotzu and took their battle to the skies.
The crane martial artist focused his mind solely on his opponent's movements. Krillin liked to fight by distracting him and then landing blows while he was distracted. If he doesn't fall for his distractions, then there is nothing to worry about! Chiaotzu knows he's stronger physically, but it doesn't mean anything if he is the one being hit.
Krillin was throwing a right punch to his face. He should dodge it but continue to watch Krillin's movements. The punch soared right past his shoulders, and he was gonna try to follow up with a knee to his chest. Chiaotzu laughed as he dodged the knee strike and tried to punch Krillin back down toward the island, but Krillin dodged his strike and headbutted him away.
"Owww! Stop tricking me!" Chiaotzu whined.
"Don't be so gullible, sucker." Krillin snickered.
Chiaotzu has paid the price for focusing too much on Krillin's movements and paying too little attention. He has to somehow find the right balance between the two, and then he should be able to get Krillin just where he wants him. The pale-skinned fighter slapped his cheeks and got ready to fight again. He dashed at Krillin, and the two began their fight once more.
Chiaotzu's attacks were heavier than Krillin's, but they were much more straightforward. This allowed Krillin to dodge them more easily, but suddenly Chiaotzu changed up his rhythm. His fighting that was power based turned into one more speedy-based. He aimed a strike at Krillin's face before vanishing behind him and aiming at the back of his head. Krillin was too surprised by his speed to react and was knocked straight down into the sea.
He flailed his arms widely while screaming as he fell. He managed to stop himself from sinking into the water, but Chiaotzu had a different plan as he kneed Krillin into the waters below and continued their fight underwater. Chiaotzu made sure Krillin held his breath before continuing to fight him underwater. This was just a friendly spar. He didn't want to accidentally drown Krillin.
Krillin didn't manage to sense his attack in time and was taking in a lot of water. Chiaotzu vanished under him and punched him out of the water onto Roshi's island. The crane martial artist floated back to the island to find Krillin grinning and laughing on his butt.
"Looks like I lost this time, huh?"
"Yep! Now it's 1 to 1, Krillin!"
"Next time, I won't go down so easily!"
"We'll see! Thanks for the spar, Krillin! See you guys later!" Chiaotzu waved goodbye and flew away.
"Heh, did you notice Krillin?" Roshi asked.
"Noticed what?" Krillin asked cluelessly.
"He didn't use his telekinesis this time or any ki attacks. He was holding back on you and still managed to pull one over ya."
"You're right! He's already surpassed me just with his martial arts! I gotta start my training again and take it even further than usual! I can't even imagine how strong Goku is now if Chiaotzu is already that strong!" Krillin suddenly realized.
"That's the spirit, Krillin." Turtle cheered.
"I'll help ya train anyway I can." Roshi offered.
