Tae-jon sat in front of Ah-Reum, unable to look her in the eye. His cheek felt like it was on fire, but he ignored it. They were sitting in the garage's lounge. Ah-Reum was staring at Tae-jon, who kept avoiding her eyes.
Ah-Reum's heart rate kept rising every time she remembered that Tae-jon could have died if the brake system had not worked properly.
"What were you thinking?" Ah-Reum asked in a quiet voice. Her lips trembled as she talked, and her voice shook. Tae-jon raised his head and looked at her. Ah-Reum's eyes were full of tears. Tae-jon got up from his seat and went to her. Before she could protest, he hugged her and stroked her head.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't mean to scare you."
