Zig Vs The Door

"So, this is the place, where the pink clouds originate from." A woman looked towards the horizon from the cliff. A gloomy fog covered the land. Which blocked the sunlight and made the place look creepy.

"Yes, Your Highness." John, who was Standing behind her confirmed. He had a hint of fear on his face. Although he didn't want to come back here he had to because the king had proposed a generous amount of money for leading the expedition group in the 'No Mans Land'.

'If I can get my hands on that money then I won't have to work as an adventurer anymore. I can then spend more time with them.' John thought. This was his reason for coming here once again. If he could pull this off, then he would be set for life.

"Okay, Commander Zig will be in charge of scouting out the area." The woman commanded the man beside John. This woman was the queen who was overlooking the whole expedition. This expedition contains a total of thirty soldiers and a commander.

Commander Zig is the leader of the elite knights of the kingdom. He came along not as part of the expedition team, but as a protector of the queen. The queen has little combat ability and no outstanding talents. She joined the expedition to claim the glory of its success. Meaning she was just technically just tagging along.

Because of this reason after Commander Zig gave out the command to the other soldiers, a tent was also made where the queen rested. She stayed there for the whole expedition until a possible clue was found.

"There are houses in the north?"

"Yes, Your Highness." The guard replied.

"Well, that's odd. Does someone live in this barren land?" The queen pondered.

"Did you find someone there?" She asked.

"No, Your Highness. We tried to enter the houses, but the doors don't open."

"Then Just break in, idiot. Do you think we need permission to enter someone's house?" Commander Zig butted in from the side, clearly a little annoyed.

The informant got a little scared at this.

"We…we tried to but the doors don't break." The informant stuttered a little.

"You had the top-of-the-line soldiers and you couldn't break a simple door?" Commander Zig frowned.

"Ye…yes, commander."

"Should we take a look?" Commander Zig asked the Queen.

"Yes, we should."

And thus, the group made their way to the said location.

(An hour later.)

"This place is creepy as hell. Are we there yet?" the queen complained.

"Ye…yes, your highness. It's just on the top of this mountain." The guard replied.

The group looked at the direction the guard pointed. They could see stairs leading up the mountain. Due to the thick fog, they couldn't see the top of the mountain.

They followed the guard as they made their way up the mountain. It was a steep edge so they had to be careful not to slip.

At the top of the mountain, they found buildings made from foreign designs.

"This is Kirishiman architecture." Commander Zig muttered.

"Do you know these building designs?" the Queen asked.

"Yes, they are from an eastern country. Looking at the designs this should be a temple of some sort." He replied.

"If this is the case then where is the statue of their god. Is it inside?"

"Statues are not mandatory in their temple. Since they believe that their god resides in natural objects." Commander Zig replied as they walked to the back of the shrine.

"How does that work?" John pondered.

"It's their culture. We can not do much about it."

"Fair enough."

When the team reached the backyard, they found houses that looked like residential areas.

The queen looked at Zig and told him to break the door.

Commander Zig nodded and unsheathed his broadsword from his back. He went near the door and with great strength rammed in the sword with a pincer attack.

*Boom

The attack made a huge sound and dust flew everywhere due to air pressure.

"Huh?" but after the dust quickly subsided everyone looked in surprise as the door didn't even a single dent. The most surprised was Zig himself. He knew how much his raw straight could do. After all

He was a top warrior in his country.

"Use magic." The queen commanded from behind him.

Commander Zig nodded and proceeded to channel his manna into his broadsword.

The air started to swirl around him like a vortex.

"Haaaa…" Zig shouted as he rammed his sword again but this time with all his strength.

*Booooom!

This time the sound was more powerful. Zig was sure that a mere door would not be able to handle it.

But,

"Huh?"

"What the…"

"…"

The door was still standing, not even a scratch was made.

"Damn it, I don't believe this door is invincible!" Zig shouted and pulled out a talisman from his bag. The talisman was made of a golden paper and the ink was made from a dark red substance.

The queen was a little surprised to see a talisman. Talismans were a little expensive. Even for someone like Commander Zig, using talismans willy-nilly is like kicking the chicken off a cliff.

As Commander Zig channeled his mana in both his sword and the talisman a huge torrent of wind started to blow and his sword started to glow a faint white glow. The wind was so strong that the others had to retreat a bit and close their eyes.

*Booooooooooooooom!!!!

A shattering sound came as well as the ground shook violently. Zig had a maniacal grin on his face. He was sure, this much power could easily Shatter the whole.

But,

*Crack

Something shattered, and it wasn't the door.

It was in fact his sword,

*Crack

And his pride.
