Everything in the village looked normal. However, there was a small problem.
She asked Walter, "Um, Mister Walter. Why is the village burning?"
"..."
Walter looked at the burning village, speechless. After a while, a sudden realization struck him.
"Shit!" He shouted.
He quickly returned to the forest and placed his basket in a hidden location. At this point, Sakura who was poking her head out of the basket, gave him a confused look.
"Little one. Stay here for a while, okay? If I don't make it back, just run away." He said in a hurry.
Even before Sakura could say anything Walter stormed off towards the village.
"Huh? I am genuinely confused here. What is happening?"
Sakura wasn't sure of what to do at this point. So, she asked Astra to buy some information to get some context of the situation.
"Buy some info on the situation."
'That much?' The information price seemed oddly on the higher side which confused her even more.
'Ok buy it.' She gave the confirmation.
Suddenly, information started to appear in her head. The more she learned the more disturbed she became. What was happening was far more complex than a bandit theory Astra gave.
The kingdom she was in is called The "Arara" kingdom. They are currently at war with the neighboring "Kingsmen" kingdom. Recently the "Arara" lost a lot of troupes in battle causing them to become unstable. Both commercially and structurally. Now, this kind of situation is the worst thing to happen in war.
But, Arara kingdom's solution to this, is what disturbed Sakura the most.
Arara kingdom decided to let an international evil organization secretly operate in their remote mountain region in exchange for money.
'Are you fricking kidding me! What kind of country does that.' She exclaimed in her mind.
However, this was still not the end. That certain evil organization also known as the "Blood Messengers" decided to kidnap people from this region and sacrifice them in order to summon their blood god.
'What are the odds of bumping into an organization summoning a god?'
She really wanted to bash her head after knowing this.
But this was not the end of the information. Apparently, the blood god wants to suck out the vitality of the planet thus destroying all life on this planet.
'...'
Sakura was utterly speechless. After a bit of silence, she pinched her cheeks to confirm if it was a weird dream or not.
"Ouch." She broke the silence after painfully confirming she wasn't dreaming.
"Astra, what is the possibility of bumping into a situation like this?"
"Sigh, I really do have dog shit for luck. Don't I?"
Sakura sat down quietly and calmed herself down. panicking at this moment would be bad.
"Is that so?"
After Astra relived Sakura a little she calmed down.
"How powerful is a god, anyway?"
"How about the blood god we talked earlier about? How powerful is it?"
"How much is it?"
<2EP>
"Ok buy it."
Another torrent of information made its way into Sakura's head. She started to understand the basics of a god's power level and where the said blood god stands in them.
The understanding of the power level of gods was very simple.
It went on something like this,
S Rank< SS Rank < SSS Rank < X Rank < Y Rank < Z Rank < Z+ Rank
There wasn't anything to be said about the power system. As it seemed very easy to understand. What surprised Sakura was that the blood god she was fearing was an S rank. The lowest of the low.
'I wonder if I can beat him since this guy is such a low rank.'
"Sixth day, huh? That's still crazy strong."
It was a crazy amount of stats. Around 13 million or so. And this was the lowest of the low gods.
*Rustle *Rustle
Suddenly Sakura was interrupted by a rustling noise. She looked towards the source of the noise and noticed Walter coming back.
'He's back.' Sakura also noticed the two children he was carrying. One was a little girl around the age of five or six. And then a toddler who looked to be the age of one or two.
*Huf *huf
Sakura could clearly hear the panting of Walter as he made his way back.
She quickly got out of the basket and went to the three of them.
"Are you guys alright?" Sakura asked as she got a hold of the toddler.
'Astra, healing please.' She said in her mind.
'Do it.'
A green light shone around Walter and the fainted children as they started to heal. Walter's little burns started to heal and the children's pale faces started to receive colors.
"You can use magic!" Sakura heard Walter's voice only to turn around to see his shocked face.
She tilted her head in confusion.
"Of course, I can. How do you expect me to heal you in that cave when you were injured, in that cave?"
"I see. That explains why I wasn't injured. Back then."
Walter plopped against a tree after placing the little girl down.
"So what happened?"Sakura asked as she looked at the toddler's condition. Even though she knew what was happening she decided to ask the question regardless.
"It's a long story. We have to get out of here first." Walter replied.
"What about the village?" Sakura asked.
"Leave it. there's no one there."
At this point, sakura understood that all the villagers might have already been abducted or evacuated.
So, she just nodded and kept hold of the baby in her arms.
After a while of resting the party of four, Sakura, Walter and the two unconscious children started going to another place where they could stay the night and get sheltered from the cold.
