"Did you put everything in?" Theresa asked her handmaiden, who remained as the only person left at the dining table.
"Yes, he should be feeling uncomfortable now. Is it time?" The handmaiden inquired.
"Yes, yes. I am going to have my grandson soon!" Theresa replied with excitement. Thinking of the lady she prepared this time around, she was going to behead her if she ruined her plans.
The handmaiden followed Theresa's instructions and went to fetch the lady for Damien.
"Remember, you can't leave this room until tomorrow morning, no matter what happens. Once you enter this room, we won't be able to come in. Don't disappoint Lady Theresa, she has done her part, so do yours well," the handmaiden advised as they stood outside Damien's room.
The lady nodded and entered Damien's room. Inside, she couldn't find Damien and wondered if she should go outside the room to inform them. But she remembered the handmaiden's words and decided to wait for Damien, sitting by the edge of the bed.
Outside the mansion...
Damien felt uncomfortable when he reached his room and decided to get some fresh air outside the mansion. He went through a small door in his room that led to a secluded area outside.
For some reason, he had a longing for something, but he couldn't figure out what it was. The fresh air didn't seem to help, and the cold wind made it worse.
As he tried to calm his emotions, he noticed someone standing by the wall, appearing as though they wanted to climb over it. On closer inspection, he realized it was a woman who seemed to be trying to escape.
He found himself becoming curious and started walking towards her without realizing it.
"You are not very good at climbing walls," he commented.
"Who cares..." She paused and turned towards the direction of the voice. She was startled to see a man standing there with his arms folded in front of him. His voice sounded strangely familiar, deep yet calm. She couldn't see his face clearly, but she knew she had never seen someone like him in the mansion before.
Then something clicked in her mind 'Deep yet calm,' that was how the Alpha's voice sounded when she first met him.
"Care to share your thoughts?" Damien's voice startled her, causing her to take a fall backwards.
"Ahhh!" She screamed, preparing for a fall. Luckily, Damien caught her before she hit the ground.
Damien felt a yearning in his body when he held her in his arms. Without thinking, he let go of her and made her fall onto the hard ground.
Angry, she glared at him and questioned why he caught her if he was just going to throw her away. "How could you throw someone like that?" She asked, standing up.
Looking at him, she noticed a flicker of gold in his eyes before they returned to normal. She finally confirmed her suspicion. He was the Alpha. What was he doing here?
"What did you do to me?" He asked, surprising her. She couldn't believe he was asking her that after he had thrown her to the ground.
Clearing her throat, she replied politely, "Alpha, it's late. Get some rest."
"Are you planning to escape?" He asked, moving closer to the wall.
Aurora cursed herself for being careless. She had forgotten that she was trying to escape. She shouldn't have stopped climbing earlier. He was definitely going to...
"The rope isn't secure, and this wall is too high. The eastern part of the mansion has a shorter wall," he suggested, shocking her. Was he actually helping her escape? She shouldn't believe him blindly, he probably had a hidden intention. Was he trying to make sure she escapes so he could find an excuse to punish her?
She scoffed silently and thought, 'I am not a fool.'
"I am not running away, I just wanted to clean the wall," she came up with a lame excuse and regretted it immediately. He should leave and stop bothering her.
They heard faint footsteps approaching, and Damien turned to face the sound. Taking it as a cue, Aurora packed her bag and ran away, leaving Damien behind.
"Hey!" Damien called after her, but she was too fast. He suddenly felt an urge to follow her, and without hesitation, he chased after her.
Arriving at her room's door, she sighed in relief, thinking she had evaded the Alpha. Why did he have to arrive when she was almost done escaping? If she didn't find a way to escape tonight, it was going to be harder in the future, given Theresa didn't succeed with her plans, again. Her relief was short-lived when she heard his voice behind her.
"Alpha!" she exclaimed, not expecting him to have followed her. Why was he so persistent? After rejecting her years ago, he had certainly changed. Maybe Theresa's plan to secure an heir wouldn't fail this time.
Damien stood there helplessly, unable to explain why he had followed her or what he was even doing there. His body seemed out of his control. Merely standing there, he desired a connection with Aurora. He felt attracted to her for some unknown reason, which was unusual for him.
He had never experienced such strong sexual urges before, but tonight was different. He wanted her intensely, and he couldn't take his eyes off her. Was it because of her beauty? Taking a closer look, he noticed she appeared skinny and exhausted, but he could imagine her beauty if she were dressed up.
Wait, what was he thinking? These thoughts were inappropriate. What was happening to him? He desperately wanted to undress her and engage in naughty activities. He tried to divert his thoughts, but they kept returning to those lustful desires.
"I..." Aurora was interrupted as Damien suddenly pulled them into her room and locked the door. Holding her firmly, he pushed her against the wall and rested his forehead against hers.
Aurora grew scared and asked fearfully, "What do you want?"
"I want you."
