<p>Beverly was not dense. At least, she didn't think she was. And it was precisely because she's not dense that she easily  noticed the preferential treatment Professor Wentworth was giving to her friend Aubrey.  Don't get me wrong, Professor Wentworth is kind to everybody; he's what you can call a bonafide air conditioner.
