"No, let's go." Aubrey said and Rhyland smiled in response.

Friends, that's what they were now. And friends should be able to hang out with each other.

Thankfully, though they were alone together, Aubrey didn't have to be alone with her thoughts for long.

In fact, their date that was not a date turned out to be quite interesting and fun. Rhyland took Aubrey to Chinatown to ride a horse drawn carriage, called a kalesa, around town to see the different sights. Grateful to be born to such a privileged background, Aubrey was humbled to bear witness to the happy, smiling faces of the locals despite living in such poverty.
